Why are you watching in SD?

I don't have an HD receiver... DirecTV wants me to pay $150 for the receiver that was supposed to be hooked up in the first place (the moron didn't think my 32" LCD HDTV was an HDTV). The even worse part is that like half the DirecTV lineup is HD-only. So I'm essentially not getting what I pay for.
