NASCAR on TNT

Tried that. But, after a bit, they put a good sized white square in the center of the screen, so you can't see much. They ask for a donation to continue watching but they have no way to know if you donated, related to your you tube id.
And that feed can end at any point when you tube realizes its a trademark violation.

I've never had any of those issues. It is not a trademark violation, NASCAR puts the videos out themselves. Something is not right.

Are you sure you're pulling from the correct link?

Would you provide the link you're using? Maybe we can get @ahudsonman straightened out.

Guys, first, thank you very much for all the info.
Really appreciate you trying to help.
I will try on Sunday to find the correct link.
Are we saying somewhere I can find the link on race day and watch live?
Thanks again.

That’s a huge hit to viewership. I suspect the street race novelty has worn off. Network coverage will always be higher than cable, but nearly a 50% decrease is enormous year over year.

TNT is the reason for the drop.

The Stanley Cup Finals dropped 40% from last year going from ABC to TNT.

Not on raceday, the full race replay that NASCAR puts on YouTube isn't available until the day after the race.

Oh I see. Not live. That's a horse of a totally different color.
But I sincerely thank you anyway.

Like I have been saying from the first. It doesn't matter how many pixels there are or what productions they trot out, streaming or cable. Having the races on all of these different channels isn't good for viewing numbers. They took the money though.

TNT did a little better with updates with drivers that had problems. Marty Synder is still the only one that gives good information from the pits. Aside from Atlanta, they've been stuck with two dud races to cover.

They sure left the broadcast in a hurry yesterday. A nice interview with SVG but I was expecting more.

With this race, there wasn't a ton they could have done with it. Everyone was on a pretty comparable fuel strategy, and most the contenders on the same tire strategy. And with one driver in front all day, not much in the way of "battles" to talk about. I didn't enjoy it, but it's not like there was a ton to work with.

I had to keep the mute button on. They interviewed Brian’s nephew for what seemed like an entire stage.

Some choice. The never shutting up booth monkeys or the head gerbil.

Watching it would have required me to shive a git about the 'tournament'. I don't know anyone would have watched it for the last couple of races, when they had only four or two drivers to talk about. Imagine 3+ hours of Ty vs. Ty.

I couldn’t imagine anyone wanting to watch that alternative babble. How much did DraftKings pay for all that crap?

The Indy regular broadcast was annoying enough, because the director (or producer or engineer or someone) insisted on having LOUD noise levels from the cars, which made hearing and understanding the announcers very difficult. Otherwise the usual experience with enjoying Adam’s lead, Junior’s color, and barely keeping LeTart’s whiny gerbil level from hurting my ears.

My experience over on the HBO Max was the exact opposite. The cars weren't loud at all.

Interesting. The feed ought to be the same no matter the network. Maybe it’s the way the audio was detected and fed to my sound bar via Hulu Live, which is what we use for live network/cable channels.

Oh, devices matter. I have Dolby Atmos and an Apple TV, but my TV is a piece of ****. The only reason I have Atmos audio is because the Apple TV is hooked up directly to the soundbar.

NASCAR should require cable and broadcast partners to ADD streaming. It doesn't have to be an 'either / or' choice.

But we see how well that worked with CW ...

The reason NASCAR got the bag was because they went with cable-only for half the races and is being used to keep FS1 and USA relevant.

TNT races were on HBO Max. I wonder if they will be next year with TNT Sports going to Discovery.

The takeaway from this is races shown on regular TV get good ratings, even Xfinity. Those stations are usually part of any cable or streaming package. Yet, the races on cable and streaming are about half. Do people not know how to find FS1 and TNT on their packages, have that many people just gone with just OTA and Netflix, Hulu Live TV, etc., or is something else up with these numbers? I don't include Prime in this because they are strictly streaming. I can understand their numbers. It's the numbers for FS1 and TNT that are puzzling.

If we could answer that, we could afford better ways to spend our Wednesday afternoons than pondering TV numbers.

Broadcast > Streaming > Cable

The number of people who have cable (including YouTube TV and Hulu Live) continues to diminish. I think every single "linear TV" package has gone up this year.
