Nationwide at Daytona

Just finished watching the race this morning, I dvr all races, all I can say is WOW.

I have to hand it to the drivers, what a finish and made it through clean. Can not say enough about the young drivers in the field, outstanding job.

I think the wow factor comes from the moments of car control at speed and these young guns did a magnificent job Friday night.

Even though I do not care for KB, I will give him an attaboy for loosing the lead to help his team mate Sadler stay in position to get the wave around after Sadler pitted by himself.

Who moved my thread and comment to here and why?o_O

Don't blame Brian France for the follow the leader race last night, blame the drivers. The cars on the inside could have easily moved to the front of the outside pack as it was coming up, killing the momentum of the inside line and making a race out of it, but they were content in riding the race out that way.

Even late in the race when Ty Dillon was running 3rd and his teammate was leading the outside pack, Ty could have jumped out there and made a run for the lead as that pack was moving up, but he never did.

imo it was a pretty boring race, but I blame the drivers for that.
Totally true. But for the old trolls that wanna bitch - it's much more fun to blame Nascar for the little babies than it is to put it on the drivers.

Outside lane never went anywhere until the GWC.

Yea I know, because the cars on the inside lane were dedicated to that lane until the final lap. Had some of those cars broke to the outside... like on the final lap... the inside lane loses momentum and the outside lane moves up.

That's why Kahne won from the outside, because Larson broke to the outside and smith lost some momentum.

Kahne came up the middle and then the pack went to two lanes coming out of 4.

Either way Kahne went around Logano to get to the front, and Larson moved out and forced a middle line which hurt Smith's momentum.

My point is things like that could have happen throughout the race but no one wanted to make a move. Instead they were content in playing follow the leader, so I blame the drivers for a boring race.

They were also nose-to-tail after the GWC, something else that they didn't do earlier. Because they weren't "allowed" to.
But they "were moving side to side", so it was legal

I am not sure what race some of you watched, but, the race I saw was a good one, as far a restrictor plate races go. They were racing 2 and three wide almost all night and pulled off a great finish and 98% of the cars are back on the hauler in one piece.:D

simon sezs, stay in a line

yep, when cars could push during the race, the outside AND inside lane could work. As it was, with Nascars no push restrictions the shortest distance, the lower lane, was it. I guess we can argue that there wasn't any pushing going on the last lap, I saw plenty, one of Nascar's three blind mice says there wasn't because they were moving side to side? OR if the cup car race runs tonight, they can push and you will see plenty of passing the last 50 laps or so.BTW they will be going side to side while they are locked up, they will be trying to hold it steady as possible, but it is really hard to not go side to side at 200 mph. apparently the Nascar brass haven't watched too many plate races, or Pemberton needs a new pair of glasses. Byan steig was stuck to Kasey's bumper like superglue.
