Nationwide at Dover Race Thread

Kyle Busch may never win a title but he's still gonna get to 200 wins in NASCAR and wins 20+ races a year. As a fan I'm more then happy with that. Obviously I'd love to see a championship but he's still gonna make the hall of fake either way. Mark martin is an all-time great and he never won a title and busch will likely surpass him in cup wins.

and just how many of that wins will be in the Sprint Cup series? At least Richard Petty got all of his wins in one series. When Kyle Busch does get his 200th win, there should be an asterisk next to that which states: Most of the wins came from the lower series.

Nobody cares that Paul di Resta once beat out Sebastian Vettel for the Formula 3 championship. Because di Resta didn't do much in F1 and Vettel is now a four-time world champion.

It's honestly kind of mind-boggling how much Kyle's fans value second- and third-tier victories. From what I can remember, none of the fans of Harvick, Bowyer, Edwards, Keselowski, Logano, and so on care(d) so much when they won.

Probably because they win a 5th as much

Yeah, funny how a competitor is judged based on how he performs at the highest level of their respective sport.

Most cup wins since his rookie year only 2nd to Jimmie Johnson. I'd say he's performing pretty well at the top level of his sport

I never compared it to Pettys 200 but it's still a significant accomplishment and something to be proud of

Not really. I'm sorry, I'm just not impressed with a guy who goes to High School games and beat the High School team when he's an NFL player. I'm not impressed with Kyle Busch winning the equivalent of the comparison I made earlier in this post. He shows up in JGR equipment in all three series and handily beat drivers in Trucks and N'wide and it's just not that impressive. In the Sprint Cup series, he only has 29 wins, which puts him 23rd in the ranking of All Time NASCAR Sprint Cup Series winners.

I'm sure Kyle Busch fans are all orgasming over Kyle Busch performance in Trucks and N'Wide, but the rest of us just find it dull and boring and it's hurting the lower series which are supposed to be developmental series!

I mean for **** sake, how the **** are potential sponsors and team owners supposed to gauge the talent of developmental drivers in the Trucks and N'Wide series when Cuppers run away with the win every damn week?

And almost all anyone will remember is the zero championships and multiple Chase collapses. See Mark Martin.

To be fair, Kenseth had the collapse last year at Phoenix. Still can't believe that actually happened.

Still a champion who has proven himself capable of succeeding when it matters most.

Out of Kyle's 29 Cup wins, 1 has come in the Chase - and that was back in 2005 when he wasn't even in the Chase field.

So in short, Kyle Busch isn't exactly measuring up to the hype that his fans seem to generate for him. 29 wins in Sprint Cup, only gotten one in The Chase when he wasn't even a contender. Most of his wins came from Nationwide (66) and Trucks (39).

In short, short: A big fat ****** yawn for Kyle Busch.

Im a Chase Elliott fan as you can tell. I have mixed feelings on the cuppers racing in nationwide. That said, if a nationwide regular beats them or runs right with them it shows just how good they really are also so in that respect I think it really is a good thing. I am as sick and tired as anybody of Kyle Busch running off with wins but he is good.

He better look in the mirror though because that Elliott kid and a few others are going to give him a run for his money in due time.

I kinda wish Truck and N'Wide regulars would just start wrecking out the Cuppers. Tear up enough equipment and the Cuppers will decide it's not worth it to run in the lower series.

I always say the same thing when I'm watching. Turn those ******* and win you a race. That is, if you can ever get to them.

I think i would consider Arca more like high school. Nationwide is more like college...the last stop before the pros and where they need to check their training wheels at the door and compete with a few of the upperclass drivers to help them develop their skills. But, i still think it would benefit the Nationwide drivers more if the Cup drivers had to start at the back of the field so that they would have to work their way to the front and then the Nationwide drivers could study their lines a little better. That being said, i pay more attention to the Nationwide drivers over the Cup drivers, and i never root for, or get any real enjoyment out of watching a Cupper win in the Nationwide series. But, there isn't anything much cooler then watching the student spank the teacher when they can.:)

Nah, ARCA is the Night School that drop-outs go to, to get their GEDs. :p

It was like Watkins Glen 2012, I'm not even kidding. Epic.

You mean the race that the officials didn't have enough sense to throw the flag for an oiled track? Meaning that they were too stupid to understand that the only guy who gets screwed in such conditions is the leader? You know, the guy that had the field covered? The race that screwed the leader out of the Chase? That Watkins 2012?

I'm sure, like Kyle, the others you have mentioned have those fans that care how much they won too.

I'm a Kyle fan, but I don't give a damn about his NW and truck wins. I enjoy watching him run in them and win, but I expect him to win them. Quite honestly, thats how a majority of the Kyle fans I know are. We don't run around bragging and gloating about those wins, even though I like seeing them. As a fan, you want to see your driver win any race they are in.

Will I be impressed if he gets 200 across all 3 series? Yes. Thats still a helluva feat, but I want that Cup trophy. That will be more impressive to me, and most Kyle fans I know. Lets not lump ALL Kyle fans as caring so much about his other wins just bc of a couple outspoken ones on this site.

I like it when he wins. I don't overthink it. I'm simple that way.

They're not good enough to wreck them without wrecking themselves.

Hey, where the hell was Chase Elliot today? Does the kid even care anymore?:D

Haters gon' hate. KyBu minor league wins kill my vibe and the sport.

Bad idea. Wrecking cars owned by Joe Gibbs and Roger Penske needlessly is probably not a good career move for aspiring Cup drivers.

It's not even just Busch, when I tuned in Logano was leading and I flipped back to Belle Isle.

Keselowski has a 2.0 (!) average finish in the series this year, Harvick has a 3.3, Logano has a 4.0 as well. Dropping down just makes races not even remotely competitive.

Hahaha the stat man.

Don't get me wrong, I hate watching the 22 do well when a cup driver is in the seat.. It just seems like Busch is the face of the current Buschwhackers and the biggest offender of all time.

After every race I'm about as enthused as the a**hole in victory lane. Kyle and I both look like "-_- good race"

Do you think a Kyle Busch fan is afraid of that? That is our life blood. We breathe anti-Kyle Busch BS 24/7. Haters remind us of exactly why we love him! We need you!

I was suggesting that Busch may sweep the weekend.

Kyle Busch fans think they got it rough from haters. Move along. Try being a Jeff Gordon fan. Talk to any stranger about NASCAR & when they ask who your driver is there is always a hint of regret when you say "Jeff Gordon". Nearly every time they will ridicule you for being a fan of crybaby Jeff, wonderboy & a phaggot.

I usually just hold up 4 fingers till their done ;)

It's not so bad now. Lots of people that used to dislike Gordon have come to... I won't say like... appreciate him.
But back in the mid 90's it was insane how fans despised him. It was as if it was just the thing to do to hate Gordon for even the casual fans because 'everyone hates Gordon'.

Maybe people wouldnt hate on kyle if he did something worthy in the cup series :idunno:

Yes, 23rd on the all time wins list (only 5 active drivers currently have more wins - 2 more wins ties him with Kenseth) and 26th currently in all time win percentage (only 3 active drivers rank higher) and not even 30 years old yet is just terrible!

More wins than guys named Kevin Harvick, Bobby and Terry Labonte, Carl Edwards, Jeff Burton, Buddy Baker, and Benny Parsons.

What a sh!tty resumè!

Say what you want, but trying to act like he is some hack in the Cup series is just laughable.

YEP

The remedy to the discomfort seems apparent to me. Watch something else. Am I wrong? :D
That seems to be what millions of fans have done in the two lower tiers, thanks to kybu.
