Nationwide at Texas

A win is a win. Winningest driver in the series wins again.
Say what you want but when you surpass the likes of Sam Ard and Mark Martin in a series, you're doing pretty well ;)

This race ain't over til Sam wads it into the fence
He took a top five car and messed it up AGAIN. Interview afterwards, he didn't know what happened, could have been the spotter, the other car, on and on. He has to be one of the dumbest drivers in motorsports. he isn't done either the season is still young. Penske should have been second and third.

If I was the crew chief, right after I bitch slapped him a couple of times I would say, Hey Sam, there is this thing on every track you seem to have a problem with..it is called the wall. Your spotter told you to take it easy on the last restart, what do you do, run up on a back marker and try to drive thru him.

In NASCAR, Sam Hornish is a Nationwide driver, at best.
He's really good at beating himself. Roger signed him because he brings his own money.

Don't worry guys I won't go all slicebread on you. All I will say is Sam is proving he can run with the best. He should have been more patient back there, but he will learn. There hasn't been another Nationwide driver this year that has matched his strength. He will win the championship this year.

With that I say goodnight.

How much time does he need?
until he runs out of his money I hope. It is painful watching week after week, top drawer equipment being wadded up from stupid moves. He only has one speed..stupid. He had three top fives in five years of cup racing. Finished a distant fourth in nationwide? It is going to be worse this year, probably get beat by a couple of rookies, besides the regulars. I think he will finish up 6th or lower this year.

Maybe he just doesn't have the right teammates as that's an often used excuse for lack of results ;)

Kyle Busch wins another race in a series that is below his driving level. *yawn* That's like being excited when an NFL team beats a college football team every week, not that exciting.

People do, however, still pay to see the Harlem Globetrotters ;)

He will likely win 15-18 Nationwide races this year. In a few years he will have over 200 combined wins and everyone will say he has more than Petty.

Did it escape your attention that several of the Cup series (including its reigning champion) top drivers were in that race?

Terribly short sighted analogy on your part. It was also a great race regardless of who won.

Dude you are so off based. I won't sit here and tell you he is the best ever, or her will be, but stop trying to make him out to be Brendan Gaughn.

If he was tearing up top equipment every week then why is he leading the points? Also he is the only non cup driver with a win this year. These rookies you are talking about? I don't see them, that is because they are all running 15th.

This seems like a mid season argument. Sam is showing speed.

Only except Petty drove with other drivers that matched his driving skills instead of racing in a lower tier series just so he could get an easy win.

I always enjoyed watching Mark Martin run up his Nationwide wins . It wasn't a big deal back in the day . Now it seems to be polically incorrect .:(

I agree that a NW win is not as impressive as a Cup win, beating 10 Cup drivers is not the same as beating 42 Cup drivers. Still, I think it's pretty amazing what Kyle has done in NW so far this year.

What is scary is the Hornish's cup record is about the same or worse than Brendan Gaughn's..your comparison not mine Dude.

cup guys beat em up pretty bad, Dillon 3rd and Smith 7th. Can't believe Kenseth finished 6th, he was all over the place.

Difference is Gaughn brought up through stocks, Hornish wasn't and was just thrown into Cup before learning how to drive the heavier car.
