So I am confused. It was a nasty wreck, but looked like all drivers walked away, and didn't see anyone in stands hurt. However everyone is really somber. Did someone get hurt?

Brad didn't do a thing wrong. Regan said he tried to block, and said he'd do the same thing tomorrow if coming to the checkers.

Pieces of the frontend had to have flown into the crowd so I suspect people are seriously injured.

You always wonder about the structural integrity of these aging metal catch fences when you sit behind them...especially this one being so close to the ocean/salt air.

The replay they showed you can see the debris going well in to the stands. I hope by some miracle nobody lost their life. This is just really bad.

Looks like Daytona will have to loose some seating in future races. They need to develop a chainmail type of netting for that catch fence.

Just saw another replay and saw a wheel go clean over the top of the catchfence. Not likley the one that was sitting next to the engine.

Yup.
And like everyone else is saying, it's clear that the other one went flying in to the stands. Probably parts of the fence were sheered off as well and went soaring along with the car debris.
