NCAA football 2014

The Buckeyes’ win ranks as the highest rated and most-watched college football game on any network since the 2006 USC/Texas Rose Bowl on ABC (21.7, 35.6M). USC/Texas was the only game of the BCS era (1999-2014) to earn a higher rating and viewership.

The title game drew a larger audience than every NBA game since Bulls/Jazz Game 6 in 1998 (35.9M), every Major League Baseball game since Yankees/Diamondbacks Game 7 in 2001 (39.1M) and every college basketball championship since Duke/Michigan in 1992 (34.3M). It also topped the most-watched soccer match in U.S. history — last year’s Germany/Argentina final (26.5M) — by nearly eight million viewers.

I'd be willing to bet that if they keep posting these numbers we'll see an expanded playoff well before the current contract runs out.

24Cardale Jones will reveal whether he's staying at Ohio State or entering the 2015 NFL Draft during a 4 p.m. ceremony at the Ginn Acadamey in Cleveland.

The fact that Jones is making his announcement in Cleveland — not Columbus, where he probably missed a day of classes — and that he's characterizing his decision as "life-changing" suggests that he will indeed be going pro.
Underclassmen have until midnight on Jan. 15 to enter their names for the 2015 NFL Draft. Once they enter, they have 72 hours to withdraw their names, provided that they do not hire an agent during that window.
ESPN's Todd McShay projects Jones as a fourth or fifth-round pick. His colleague Mel Kiper, Jr. said that he could go as early as the second round. After the national championship game, Urban Meyer tacitly supported Jones moving onto the NFL by saying "Cardale's brand will never be bigger."

He's staying.
Probably a wise move. Going to the NFL after just three starts seems a bit risky. Those starts were wins in the Big Ten Championship game, Sugar Bowl, and Nat. Champ. Game, but still I think more experience in college will do him good.

He has to worry about getting experience first. JT will probably still be the starter come game time. Cardale's stock may never be higher than it is right now.

Cardale will get some playing time next year. Braxton Miller is likely going to transfer, and Urban is talking about the possibility of using a two QB system next year. He did it at Florida with Chris Leak and Tim Tebow, so he may be able to make it work at Ohio State too.
