Nelson Piquet fined

I really don't care for political correctness, but if Clements deserves a suspension then why not Piquet?

Oh... Piquet has a lot of money.
 
Man, the more and more I hear the more I think that kid is an a**hole.

I thought Clements only deserves a fine but if he got suspended Piquet should too.

The kid should know better especially with his dad being a former champion, and with his own F1 experience.

Always limit insults, off color jokes, and threats to face to face private discussions were a he said, she said is the only thing to investigate. At least you can deny, deny to save your skin, job, etc...:).
 
I don't like the fine but, as I said in the other thread, I don't see a problem with having civil discourse. It's a shame that adults can't conduct themselves like adults in public.

The PC stuff is out of control and to fine the guy 10K is out of line. If you drive a race car for the France mafia they control basically every aspect of your life now. Nascar is a big bully sometimes and needs to get into the real world.

Mafia, mob, judge jury and executioner or whatever. They are dictators and Helton and his cronies are just goons for them. There is no check and balance in nascar. Its their way or the highway.

Wow. That's one of the most communist things I've seen in American sports. In this era Dale E calling himself the only real man in NASCAR (alluring that Jeff Gordon was gay) would get him hung by NASCAR. can we stay out of the personal lives of drivers and just enjoy the sport for the racing?

Earnhardt had a friendly rivalry with Gordon and was more likely referring to his age. And no, that wouldn't have resulted in anything. You're comparing a deliberately offensive slur to a candid remark by one person speaking about someone he was actually friends with.

When did Dale say that? and why does that only insinuate the idea on Jeff Gordon when it would have been a commentary on all the other drivers as well.

So are you denying that Dale didn't gruffily ask "You want some of this boy" and that Jeff didnt immediately give him his phone number? :)

Many times. Notably after Dale won the second Indy (jeff won the inaugural) he said in victory lane that he was the first man to win at Indy in a stock car. Anyone who kept up with the rivalry between Dale & Gordon knows that Dale's comments are what stirred the rumors of Jeff being gay. If that happened today the liberal media would eat him alive
 
That was rude and stupid of Piquet. :youliketh That said, I don't like how NASCAR is taking action over something that doesn't involve them, or how they're getting involved in driver's personal lives away from the track.
