Take Jimmie Johnson, for example. Probably the best driver any sponsor could ask for. Never blows up, never publically says anything offensive, wins Championship after Championship, etc.
The worst thing fans can come up with about Jimmie is, "He's too vanilla." Nobody ever lost sponsorship backing for being "too vanilla."
Piquet is no JJ, he's not even a Kenny Wallace. If he doesn't reel in his tongue, he may not have the opportunity to progress any farther in NASCAR.

I remember a referee was retiring from Rugby League (NRL) about 10 years ago and he told a funny story about a player he cautioned on the field for running his mouth and telling the ref what he thought of him after a call he disagreed with.
The ref told him if he spoke like that again he'd give him a red card...... the player responded with what if I just think it?

The Ref said you can THINK whatever you want.

The player responded.....Then I THINK you're an A$$hole.
