As I said above,Don't want to, I want instant gratification like the me generation and I'm tired of waiting, and besides we all read that since it is conspicuously posted everywhere but we have to have something to bitch about.

Maybe not the best time to upgrade a racing forum on the weekend, when it gets the most traffic.

Understood, my comments above weren't intended to be as critical as they look. Speaking as a relative newbie, I appreciate the forum, and especially the membership, very much. Thanks to those involved for keeping things working smoothly for the most part.

To be fair, I have already seen some improvements to obvious glitches. Also, I seldom even glance at the threads below the racing section, so what happens there might be a different story altogether.
 
Weekends are about the only little bit of free time fury has. He works full time and goes to school as many hours a week as he can cram in. Frequently he says sleep is over-rated he gets so little. Plus, he also runs a game site.

It is working pretty good for me. I'm leaving in the morning to do a couple of races and won't be back for about 4 weeks, but I will check in every now and then to see how much has changed. Good luck everyone with your computers, and I hope you see some good nascar racing.
 
Keep in mind that Fury runs this site without much compensation (notice that we don't flood your screen with ads like other forums do). TRL, NascarWoman, Majesty, and I (and I may have missed a few) are simply baby-sitters for the forum since Fury only comes around twice a year if he's lucky. There used to be a donate button, somewhere, I don't know where it is now.

I didn't realize stuff was broke when I finished the upgrade. I gave it a looksee after I disabled the incompatible styles, but it was nearing sunrise and I figured I'd better get a minute or two of sleep.

Gimme a bit to find a spot I can sit and I'll see if I can find a way to fix it up.

fury....good work. carry on. screw tha complainers. other race sites available to 'em ain't they ? ha!

illiterate in computers.....but just ole man curiosity ..... does blank space where avatar is on left......incur mo data use charges......vs prior format....where it was filled in w/ data ? back in my day......fax expense would be higher....w/ all that blank space. ha!

Some of you have way too much time to look at this( I envy you). I looked at it once, had problems typing, next time I got a chance to check it , it was fixed. Thanks for your hard work, This is an awesome site with awesome people. I love awesomeness!!!!!!!!!!:partytime
 
Any of you guys started experiencing log outs?

Everytime I close the browser and I come to the board I'm logged out.

And yes, I do have the remember me tab checked. ;)

Mine did that a couple times yesterday but it resolved. Fury probably had to do a cookie flush.
 
Mine is getting better every time I delete the cookie and reboot, rock on ol Fury san.

Ok , I'll bite . What is this cookie thing and how do I delete it .The only cookie I know is Ed cookie Byrns . Was there a cookie on Dagwood and Blondie (I forget) ?

If you are able to work this site. leave the cookie alone, let Ed have it out on Sunset.
 
I discovered some problems with the way the board upgraded that I probably would have caught if I was paying attention.

Mah bad.

It would seem that it does not automatically merge the things that I changed with the things that they (XenForo) changed. I'll be more vigilant bout that in the future.

The site should work fairly well now.

The Aurora and Flexile styles require the original authors to update them to be compatible, so for now, they are disabled.
 
Damn good job, I just noticed it's pretty much fixed. :cheers:

Other racing sites available, yes, but none of them rock as much as this one and the people on it :beerbang:

Fortunately, we are not charged more for the number of pixels we take up :D we do on occasion chop down a tree to make up for the difference in the amount of paper we don't take up, though.

How's the saying go, save a beaver, eat a tree?

I try to avoid asking for money for the site because I can't guarantee my availability (given the workload I'm under as it is) and I'd feel bad if after a bunch of donations all of a sudden I had one of those months..like the one I'm having now...where I not only have to move (and still haven't found a place to move to), but also start up school again (I aced my first semester back, btw :beerbang: ), finish a couple of big projects (one at work and one otherwise), get a new server ready and installed, AND my fancy new car keeps going back to the dealer to get fixed so I'm limited in my ability to move around during the day.

In short, I took the donate button down a long time ago because I'm not here often enough.

In general, though, if I start something, I intend to finish it, I just may not be fully aware of the situation (a common problem among my species)...so if I do something like an upgrade and it ends up more broke than it was before, don't hesitate to call, email, fire a distress flare, bust down my door, or any other such method you might have of getting my attention until it gets fixed.

I do wish I had better timing, though :( Sorry it got all messed up through the race
