I clicked on extensions and Chrome sassed me --- "boo, you have no extensions"
Smart ass.

I'm thinkin ...hamburger button ???? no way man ...I'm not even lookin for no 'hamburger button' ........ that is crazy ."click the hamburger" you had me looking for a damned burger, fury. ROTFLMAO
Well, I don't know what else to call that button
It's pretty much the only button Chrome has on that end of the browser, so I figured hamburger button is descriptive enough
No browser is perfect. They all try to be everything to everybody, trying to load up everything so that they have it ready for you when you click on it, and they end up using a lot of memory as a result.
You might try going through your addons list and making sure you only have necessities enabled.
in Chrome: Hamburger button -> tools -> extensions
in Safari: edit preferences -> extensions tab
in Firefox: tools menu or firefox button -> addons
I also use addons or settings that disable Flash and Java by default, only running when I click on them. Those tend to be the biggest culprit of slow browsing in my experience
Chrome: Click to Play setting
Safari: Click to Plugin extension
Firefox: Click to Play setting
Hope that helps
Folks, be sure to check out the new skins fury has added. If you don't know how, go to the very bottom of this page. The Site map listed on the right has a section called Styles. It can help.
or
At the very bottom left just over "Forum software" if you hover over the name a little box called Style Chooser appears. Click on it and check the new styles fury has added.

I've just installed IE 10 here in my virtual machine and it looks like the reply box is fully functional - smilies, bold, etc. When I use IE 10 I cant use emoticons in my posts but if I open Chrome as my browser I have access to emoticons and all the tools in the row at the top of the reply box.
any idea why?

If you've got racing-forums in compatibility mode on IE, then that's probably what's causing it to use the plain editor, which is bereft of buttons and fancy formatting.
Tools -> Compatibility View Settings
I still have no clues on the IE8 bug. I imagine nobody is left at XenForo that is still willing to develop for that browser. Best recommendation in that department is to keep Racing Forums in compatibility view; although the editor won't be fancy, at least it'll stop scrolling pages.
Really, though, nothing beats installing a real browser
That means 8 things are online that are working to read our site and put it on search engines (Google and Bing being the two biggest)What's it mean under 'members on line ' ...robots 8 ?
I can't begin to imagine what they could be doing . And so many of them ?That means 8 things are online that are working to read our site and put it on search engines (Google and Bing being the two biggest)

Google and Bing are multitasking with a couple bots each, then there's one from Alexa, and one from Brandwatch.
Overall, they all may have started to ramp up their search rate lately since I installed a behind-the-scenes addon to help search indexing robots read the site correctly (that is, tell it what pages are actual content that should be shown in search pages)
Nothing to worry about - the ones that are listed in the members online section as "robots" are the robots that are known to us, and abide by the robot rules and don't harm anything. It's the robots that don't show up as robots that you gotta worry about.
