Newman/Burton

LMAO. You guys are funny.

Kinda feel for Burton but then again, not really. It'll be interesting to see where he ends up.

I was speculating on the rumor of Burton switching teams while retaining CAT sponsorship? I don't get your point...oh wait you don't have one. You're merely deflecting your own ingnorance.

Since your such a guru, please enlighten all of us on how it's possible that someone who has a signed contact to drive for RCR in 2014 won't be doing so. You clearly stated that the contract was as good as gold and nothing else mattered.

You're wrong and I'm here to let you know about it because you were oh so quick to dismiss my point of view as non sensical. All I'm hearing from you now is a lot of bluster and hot air. Just hit ignore and you won't have to see my posts anymore, I wouldn't want to talk anymore sense into you.

Ok I will repost what I said again for you 3inlalaland who have an early case of CRS
he has a contract, that is why you have them. Kurt didn't have one purposely so he could move, Newman's was up as was Harvick's. You livin in a fantasy world dude. Burton could get bought out by childress if HE agreed to it, or if he didn't honor his contractural obligations, he could be released, but this isn't like an employee/employer setup, this is a contractual partnership.

More often than not, if the guy writing your paycheck wants you gone before your contract has expired, you have no choice but to accept a buyout. Only an idiot would try to fight it. Look what happened to Elliott Sadler. Tried to sue GEM to stay in their car...how awkward would that be? And who the hell would want to hire a guy that sued his last boss? Sure he eventually got another ride in Nationwide, but he'll never get another full-time ride in Cup and has nobody to blame but himself. He sealed his fate.

That's basically the gist of what I've been saying but apparently I'm in lalaland haha

What choice would you have if you didn't have a contract..your boss at burger king fires ya and hires his girlfriend.o_O
Sadler sealed his fate because he isn't good enough..if you are good enough, you don't have those problems. Gibbs hired him for a lower series, so whatz up with that? They put up with a lot..you have to get bizzare like Kurt and Bro Kyle before they say or do anything. Dale Sr. got away with it for years. he even disobeyed the good ol boys in Nascar, not to mention his team owner, pit crew, sponsor. Two way street to a certain extent.

the press release says money was an issue that tells me that there was only partial sponsorship to run burton's car. only a fool of a car owner wouldn't have in the drivers contract that sponsorship was key to the contract remaining in force. so thats RCR's out right there not fully funded to run jeff in the car. Jeff burton while I think he is washed up is a class act. I don't picture him as the kind of guy you couldn't just sit down with and say, jeff we want to move in a different direction. I think jeff knows the reality of this and the whole deal could probably be done with a handshake. I think jeff should run some nationwide and truck races. run a partial schedule and just have fun. Jeff probably knows that richard bet on him instead of bowyer a few years ago and that should weight heavy on his mind.

Perhaps CAT + Quicken Loans could add up to a full year for Newman?

I wish Outback would stick with Newman. That "Bloomin Newman" promo was good advertising.

I could see Burton just retire. I don't think at his age, the rides available that he'll get a decent ride..

I hate it for Burton he has always been classy. I was always more partial to Ward, but Jeff was always the classy polished one.

But his time is past due, age is a sad reality. In a just world he would get a win at Martinsville or Richmond, retire on the spot and ride off into the sunset with an incredibly beautiful wife, that has defied time.

I miss the days when Jeff was contending for wins, and little miss smoking hot Kim was setting on the war wagon. A classy and beautiful woman.

Once at a Talladega race my veiw of the backstretch was obstructed. But that wasn't a problem I just aimed my binoculars at Kim every lap, until I could hear the pack entering turn three. I been to a lot of races and I dont remember who won that day, but I do remember Kim :) .

I am a Harvick fan but it must been a pain in the ass to be his teammate, he is high strung to say the least. Burton filled a role that few could have matched.

That was the ONE good thing about Newman doing well.

Anyways Burton has had some decent runs this season. A bit surprised he is going, especially since I think RCR said he would be returning? Maybe its just me though.

And it would be cool if he ended up at a small team, using RCR equipment. Burton would have a half decent ride, and the small team would grow a lot. Its a win win.

He/She who lives in a glass house shouldn't sh!t in the cornflakes, translation: you, just like several other posters aren't on here to have fun but to be bossy and right all of the time and don't like to be proven wrong. By the way who were you comparing me to, I couldn't see it.

Lol, I am wrong all the f#cking time. You are the one who pulls out the great ole mighty bullsh#t all the time. Quit acting like your **** don't stink.

For the record I was just giving Stand On It a hard time. I actually think he is one of the better new members here.

You are entitled to your opinion just as I am, that's what the forum is about but I don't bash people for their opinion or beliefs, as I've said I'm on here to have fun and I don't give a rats butt who likes it or don't like it.

I hated it when Burton was leading because they always showed skinny lil Kim, she sat up there because she realized she be on tv. .If he were to find a way to win this yr I can take it, but after that I'm glad I'll never have to see that again.

Ok, but I respectfully totally disagree on all accounts.

It makes no sense to get all huffy at Kim for being on TV. She doesn't make that call. If you want to vent, go after the director that says "put a camera on Kim".
She's on the box rooting for Jeff. If she just sat there like a stone, people would call her cold and unfeeling.

And, yes, I edited your post. I took out a totally uncalled for, rude remark about Kim.

hehe. good one Meyhem. ranked the worst was Emo's wife, followed to a close second was Rick Mears second wife. I don't know what happened to Kyles Samantha..she was moving up to the first spot, but I think they banned her from the pit box. Oh Oh looks like I am next.:(

Edit whatever you want, I'm still right.

Per @WendyVenturini

Swan Racing alliance with RCR in 2014, Burton behind the wheel?
When was that tweet from because I'm not seeing it on her twitter page. I know she said something like this last week and w/ the announcement that Stremme is officially out of the 30 it makes it seem she may have gotten it right. But still this might be an old tweet.

Good for Newman. Stock cars needs at least one stocky driver.

RCR makes it official: Ryan Newman to drive 31 next season with Caterpillar as sponsor.

RCR also announces that Luke Lambert will remain the 31 team's crew chief and work with Ryan Newman.

"Announcements on sponsors in addition to Caterpillar will be made at a later date."
