Wow its funny bc u seem to be getting about as mad as my mother when I said that. Thats what ended up making it so funny... maybe ur wife doesn't make u cookies often enough?

I don't think keeping Newman on as a 4th team would have been good for Newman or Stewart-Haas racing. I think they need to consentrate on getting a three car team running better before going to a 4th team.
 
Newman should not be surprised. His contract expires this year anyway, had he even discussed extending it with Tony? If not, then it's on him just as much as anyone.
 
Yeah he says he didnt see it coming... but how could he not have? You got the hamburglar team owner and the cookie monster cash machine. Throw in Harvick, and why would they need Newman?.. maybe if he was performing but he's not.
 
You can't keep a guy around who isn't winning with weak or very little sponsorship. Friend or not. 5 years with only three wins? Who screwed who?o_O

Exactly... Tony is an owner not just a driver so he has a lot more to think about. He needs results, and Newman is not getting the for whatever reason. Who knows maybe Newman will go to RCR and win 5 races next year, but at this point he's just not. It would suck to see him fall off so early though isnt he only like 34 or something like that?

Yeah, the White Knights come out in full force when we speak unfavorably of Ms. Patrick anywhere but the dedicated thread. This is an SHR thread, she has nothing to do with that ;)
 
Stupid thread title aside, I think Newman will be fine. Someone will put him in a good ride. But if he were to leave I wouldn't miss him. I'm not a fan of how he races.

Reality dictates otherwise....She may not be a hot driver but she is definitely a hot commodity. I really don't think the Danica fad (and the double standard applied to her) will die for at least another couple years' worth of mediocrity. Plus NASCAR is going through an attendance/viewership slump so no way are they going to allow the people who attend/tune in because of her get away.

Danica is relevant because it's her team being discussed and she is performing well below the level of the driver who is being cut loose.

Plus - even the Danica "haters" must be wishing she would improve to the level of average cup driver so she wouldn't need her own special little thread to hang in.

Yeah the hot commodity still has a few balls in her court. She has been discussing posing nude for a sports mag.

I doubt that improving to the level of the average cup driver is going to diminish any of the hate . It shouldn't be a problem though , in her rookie year she is 25th of 43 drivers , if she improves next year to 21st , she will be above average . But hate is hate and stats don't matter.:D

BS! Newman is racing on a one year contract. He is free to talk to anyone, he didn't have to wait on Stewart. Also Harvick comes with sponsorship, and Stewart spent 3 years trying to find Newman sponsors with no luck.
