Next Four Out

he does at Martinsville? I was trying to find something that said he did, couldn't find anything. I also thought he got last pit stall pick. Man I hope it was all fake news.
I think it might just be last pit stall pick

They said something about it on Sirius but I can’t remember if I hear it again I’ll let you know.. I listen all day at work

He wouldn't have to start in the rear. His Q time was disallowed last week for failing post race inspection which gave him last pick of pit stalls and obviously meant he would have to start in the rear. Pit stalls for last week carry over to this week, but there will be a whole separate qualifying session. So, Blaney could win the pole but would have the last pit stall.

No, he does not.

His team will have to take the last available pit stall at Martinsville. He will start the race where he qualifies, assuming no further problems.
I said I thought that’s what’ they said then I said I think it’s just last pick on pit stall

Stenhouse was the lone wolf that I rightly predicted would be eliminated.
Mad props to Blaney! He has the been the surprise of the playoffs!

This is the way that I see things going:

Martinsville: Kyle Busch.
Texas: Martin Truex, Jr. (hopefully he finally conquers this track)
Phoenix: I have a hunch that one of the eliminated drivers may sneak a win in here.

Final Four: Martin Truex, Jr., Kyle Busch, Brad Keselowski, Kevin Harvick

It's obvious as to why MTJ is there.
KB is in contention, no matter where we go.
BK seems like the kind of driver who can grind out solid performances during tough times. With his recent 'Dega victory, as well as a recent stage victory or two, his chances now look a little better.
Harvick has never, ever NOT been a force to be reckoned with in the round of eight. He is also capable of churning out solid performances.

Blaney is undoubtedly the big underdog here. He has not had the best of times at M'ville, and Texas is the only place that I can see him putting up a good fight. Phoenix is pretty nondescript for Blaney.
Elliott needs a win. Honestly, I would like to see him win a race before he has to leave the 24. Otherwise, it is likely going to be game over. Some pundits say that Texas is his best shot. However, he really improved at Martinsville last time out, and I see no reason as to why he would not be able to bring the goods at Phoenix.
Seven-time has had a rough time lately. As much as I want to see it happen, I am still questioning whether or not the fire will become alight in the 48 camp this time around. He has strong numbers at every track. Can he add to them throughout the next three weeks? Like Blaney, I really think Texas could be the track for him to prevail.
Hamlin is erratic. My grandmother thinks he is erratic. Denny has the talent, but he seems to stumble whenever he is center-stage. ;)

Why do you think he is guaranteed?
I was under the impression that by being the the leader after race 26 he was to be one of the 4.
I also thought he had enough stage points going into this round that he was almost a guarantee.

If Chase can top 5 at Martinsville I have no doubt he'll make it to Homestead, but that's what it's going to take IMO and it's a tall task. His average finish in the playoffs so far is 6.1.

To put that into perspective, Truex, who has 3 wins and has looked unstoppable, has a 5.8 avg...

Not too shabby eh?

I guess you and I were under the same impression that the regular season winner was automatically in the final race .......... maybe not..... these rules are so damned convaluted it's hard to keep up with who's on first...... it's easier to keep up with Bud Abbott and Lou Costello than Nascar.........
