NFL 2024-2025

The Falcons are the reason I think about taking up drinking

I'm sorry, man. This seems like a mid 2000s Raiders/Browns level reach. Or just what some would call stupidity. As a Raiders fan, I get it...

They really should have hired Belichick and brought some proven leadership to the organization 🤦‍♂️

And I won't say that Penix isn't talented, but taking a guy with his injury history that high as your future franchise QB is certainly iffy...

I understand the reasoning for the pick.

Kirk Cousins is 35, and Penix will probably sit behind him for a couple years.

Still weird. Especially to not inform Cousins.

Does Cousins have a no trade clause?

I usually dont keep up with those inner workings but I wonder if they are setting themselves for a mid season powertrade after settling on one their two QBs to keep and the other to market.

Otherwise it has to be one of the most senseless draft picks ever.

He does. And with the way his contract is structured he’s a Falcon for at least two, probably three years. He’ll be 36 when the season starts, and with the surrounding offensive talent and a weak division, the team should be in win-now mode. Should’ve gone defense with someone like Dallas Turner. Just makes no sense to burn major resources that aren’t going to be used for several years in a position like that.

Basically, you can justify Kirk’s contract or Penix’s draft selection, but not both.

I can understand taking a young QB to sit and learn while Cousins is there, but taking Penix that high when he's had 4 season ending injuries during his college career just seems like a major roll of the dice. Especially when they've paid Kirk so much...

Titans might be lethal next year. Looks like they're getting Zay Jones too. Jacksonville's two best wide receivers going to Tennessee.

Probably be a three way race for the AFC South between Houston, Tennessee and Indianapolis.

Russ Grimm has stated that the Steelers will have an offensive line reminiscent of the Redskins Hogs.

I look forward to the 15 team race for the AFC that includes everyone but the Jags.

Great list and "God hates the Jaguars" too.

Rumor is the two Christmas Day games this year are gonna be on Netflix. Seems like a huge risk for their first real foray into live sports.

They'll probably be produced by the NFL or one of the existing broadcast partners. Remember, the Thursday Night Football games are produced by NBC Sports.

There's been a rumor circulating that the Jags might face the Lions on Thanksgiving.

Just what I need on Thanksgiving, anger issues, elevated blood pressure, and a strange desire to drink heavily.

At 8:05pm last night Merriam Webster posted an addendum to their 2024-25 edition of their long published Dictionary. The word BRUTAL has been redefined as the Pittsburgh Steelers 2024-25 schedule.

No inhouse AFC Divisional games until November 17th, the 10th game of the season. Game #10 starts a four game run to the end of the schedule against AFC North opponents. The last four include the remaining two AFC North matchups and our cross state rivals the Eagles and defending Superbowl Champions Kansas City Chiefs. For good measure, the NFL has also included a three game in ten day span. So much for the NFL's concern for player safety.

The good thing I see of all of this back loaded schedule is the lackluster first half of the season. Maybe our new offensive line along with our new quarterback room will learn to gel giving them a strong run to close out the season? Whatever the outcome, I can't wait for this all to get started.

Can't wait to see the Steelers play this year. I believe their team changes are A+. Tomlin should have fun developing this team.

Mac Jones looks like a whole new man in Jacksonville.

And from the sounds of things, being a backup on a Doug Pederson team sounds like a much better experience than New England.

Falcons lose a pick and as it was clear all along the Eagles didn't tamper.

The Falcon have pulled off the epic Effed Up Deluxe Draft for this season. There will be documentaries and books written about it.
