NHL 2016-2017

Damn, I haven't seen Pens do that much damage since Donald Trump signed his last executive order.

Go Pens! :D

These home sites have ruled the ice throughout this series. Sunday night's game is going to rock in Nashville. Pens, with a chance for taking the title, Preds in a do or die situation, we should see a game #7 type atmosphere. We are either going to see a helluva game with the Pens taking home the hardware or a helluva game to set up the game #7 in Pittsburgh. Can't wait!

Go Pens!

I guess Subban had it coming but I wish Crosby would
of picked a different "old school" method. I just imagine
Crosby was grunting " eh, eh , eh " with each push on Subbans head.

There are a lot of rules in this sport and almost zero enforcement. Each of those guys received a two minute penalty for holding. There's a ref standing three feet from them with his hands in his pockets. Ridiculous. Crosby was certainly an idiot in that situation but he's also been on the other side of it many times. They all do what they feel they have to do at times.

I think the Pens wouldn't mind going back home for a game seven.
They have been very strong against the Preds there and will give their
fans the fun of a home win since they won it on the road last year.

And that should do it. Well my prediction did not happen.

Sucks big time for Pred fans that the goal got called back but they didn't have much choice. The play was dead once the whistle sounded. Nothing new last night.

Both goalies stood on their head last night. Great game from beginning to end.

Time to go for 3.

Go Pens!

There was a regular season game earlier this year (I forget who was playing) that had an early whistle immediately before a goal and the officials allowed the goal after a discussion, so it definitely is possible for them to let the goal stand.

Here's the play from earlier in the season.

*Can't get the link to work. It was Michael Frolik against Buffalo.

IDK..... Maybe you need to contact the NHL? You might want to do it before tomorrow. I think that's when the parade is scheduled.

Not sure what to tell you. I've never seen it called a goal before after the whistle. It was clear watching the remainder of the game that the ref's did everything they could do to get the Preds back into the game. It's pretty rare to have a team not get one penalty with the type of high seep, fast paced hockey that we watched last night.

As a fan, I've been on the losing side of these things several times so I know how the Pred fans feel. Sucks, but it'll give them more incentive to play hard next season. Hopefully our teams can match up again next season to go for the Cup.

I'm not even a Preds fan (I'd say I'm a Red Wings fan if I had to choose, little kid me really liked Yzerman and Fedorov), but I enjoy the sport. Just hate to see a call like that have an major impact on the game on the sports biggest stage. That said, Nashville not capitalizing on about 3:30 of non-stop power play time (including about :30 of 5 on 3) was just as big of a problem and even if they'd won game 6 they'd have gotten rocked in Pittsburgh in game 7.

Also, not gonna lie, I hate Crosby after the Vancouver Olympics so I didn't want to see him win the cup again.

In Nashville they throw catfish..... In Pittsburgh we throw Championship Parades!

Everything gets underway @ 11am today. They are expecting 400,000+ for today's activities along the parade route. Not bad for a city the size of Pittsburgh. We love our hockey here.

Me, I'm not heading down there for it but both my son and daughter are there. I was there for the parades during the Lemieux Era.

Many people camped out at the Point last night near the stage area. Traffic is backed up all around the city this morning with people heading downtown.

40-pound catfish to be released following Penguins parade

PITTSBURGH (AP) - A Pennsylvania fish market is releasing a 40-pound catfish back into the river after the Pittsburgh Penguins victory parade.

The catfish was caught by a local fisherman and donated to Robert Wholey & Co. Inc. for the duration of the Stanley Cup Finals. The store, commonly known as Wholey's, held a naming contest for the fish. Stanley naturally won.

Owner Jim Wholey says Stanley has been safe from Nashville Predators fans, known for throwing catfish on the ice for good luck during home games. Wholey says it is time for Stanley to go back into the river and "live his life."

You know Pittsburgh is the City of Champions when they say the victory parade will follow the normal route!

Starting to fill up one of the parking garages along the route with a little under two hours before the start.
