NNS @ Bristol

Last year for the California Natiowide race they bunched everyone up and made you sit in a certain area, but the year before they didn't.

Wow, there are only TWO standalone events through June. No wonder Nationwide exited. If they're going to have them race with Cup every single week, they might as well do away with their points rules and let Kyle Busch win the series championship every year for the next 10-15 years.

Well, Kyle only wants to win 72 more races to get to 200.
Nationwide and Trucks could just let him win everything and get it over in the next 2 years.
Otherwise he's gonna do this for another 6-7 years.

Kyle was 13 when this race happened (you prolly were, too.) Notice the empty stands.

Those stands look much more crowded actually, compared to today. But Bristol had many fewer seats back then, right? The corners look nicely packed in the bottom 50 rows.

Yeah, most Nationwide races would kill for 70k, right? I just don't have a feel for whether this is good, normal, or bad attendance-wide.

I have the same presentation tactics complaint with MLB. A game might by 70% full, but looks empty because the seats you on every play -- the 5 rows right behind home plate -- are often empty. Cause they are super expensive season tickets bought buy your uber-rich fans who buy them and then only go to 1 out of 3 games.

For years I've said teams should give those seats to local Little League teams. It'd be great on TV. Young kids and families going crazy, loving every moment.

Instead you mainly see empty seats or bored, rich old dudes.

95% of seats at an MLB game are almost never on TV except for foul balls. But those 5-10 rows behind home plate on show on every pitch. Put butts in those seats! Ideally young, excited people. MLB has a problem with an aging audience. Half-empty rows of sleeping 60 year olds behind home plate on TV doesn't help.

humpy wheeler had stories bout that in his early days.
hard ta sell front rows b/c dust / dirt.....etc .
so he'd give seats away ta kids groups....cub scouts .....etc ...who were thrilled.....dirt-n- all ! ha!

I'm so sick of this ****** winning these ******* races ahhhh!

I can't believe he even feels good about these wins anymore. Can't do **** in the Cup series. His ego will eat anything.

I wonder how many of these Nationwide tickets are given away or sold for $10-$20 anyways. I know, in my experience, I can't even give away Nationwide tickets.

Sugarcoat it anyway you want. Cup races draw bigger crowds, Cup drivers draw bigger crowds. Us oldtimers remember attending Busch Series races with empty stands. Do your own Youtube search and you'll see what I mean.

There's a guy who sits in the third row, right behind homeplate at all the White Sox games. He wears a Kyle Busch M&M jacket all season long, even when it's 90* out...He has/had a Facebook page...

Who's sugarcoating anything? Who are you arguing with? Of course Cup drivers draw bigger crowds. I think you are arguing with somebody else.

Yeah, all of Kyle Busch's fans go to those races to watch Kyle Busch win the Kyle Busch 200 in the Kyle Busch Series. If that's what NASCAR wants, fine. I will have no part of it.

Pew pew!

Seriously dudes a wheelmen but he's immature which is the reason he doesn't win cup champions and also the reason he still dips into this series every damn week.

A win today, a 14th place finish tomorrow!
You may be correct, but after winning 5 cup races at Bristol since 2007... i think i would rate him just a little higher for tomorrow.
Cup wins at Bristol
1 in 2007
2 in 2009
1 in 2010
1 in 2011

That's what I meant by revamp the series. Busch races have nearly always been empty. Nascar doesn't even try to make us care. The quick fix is to let the high profile cuppers run the show. I'd be willing to bet most fans have had about enough and that it's, at least, on it's way to hurting ratings even more than anything else. I am willing to give trucks and nationwide a shot without big names and I'd wager there are several dozen fans with me.

If for a race you know that your not going to fill the seats why not give them to wounded soldiers? Or make the seats very cheap for active miltary. Wouldn't it be better to get some money in instead of having all those empty seats? Along with that the military even with a cheap ticket would spend money on junk that they sell at the tracks. It would be a win win military getting honored seats being full. Win win

Check the total number of seats sold at your local track next Saturday and compare that to a Nationwide event. You can see no-namers every weekend if you want to. NASCAR and the big tracks care about ticket sales. You ever bought driver paraphernalia at your local track? Money is in the equation when NASCAR is involved. Hate the game, not the player.

The thing that i pay the most attenton to is how good the Cup and Nationwide students do against the seasoned Cup drivers, and i was really impressed with Larson and Blaney today. I would have liked to have seen Elliott up there with them also.

If racing is in your blood, you show up and race everywhere you can.
Ask Tony Stewart. Where's all the bitching when he runs at Eldora or some other Podunk dirt track? You run what you brung.
Watch Golf or Tennis if NASCAR is too upsetting for you.
