Exactly. If I'm the guy running 15th right now (whoever that is), how am I supposed to learn anything from guys that are running like three laps ahead of me on a 1.5 mile track? I can't even see them - they're in my mirror one moment, and then before I know it, they're a straightaway ahead of me.

Exactly... why else would they be here.. to make a career as a nationwide driver? You show me a driver that doesn't want to make to to the cup series and I'll show you a driver that finishes 2 laps down in the mid 20's more often than not.
