Raymond Parks - Visionary
Red Byron - Fearless Bad Ass
Rick Hendrick - Championships
Fireball Roberts - Fast
Rusty Wallace - 55 wins and a Cup

Buck Baker, Red Byron, Tim Flock, Joe Weatherly and Herb Thomas! I think some of these early champions should be recognized.

I would vote for Leonard Wood, Richard Childress, Rick Hendrick, Fireball Roberts and H. Clay Earles.

NASCAR will probably be happy to have Ralph Seagraves or T. Wayne Robertson, Anne Bledsoe France and Wendell Scott elected to kiss some sponsor ass while getting some race and gender points.

- most all of the nominees would be great additions to the hall.

It's a hard choice, with the hall being so new, there is still many candidates that deserve a spot. I would vote for Baker, Roberts, Lorenzen, Leonard Wood and Herb Thomas

I can't decide that quick from the list. There are people on that list that I know little more than that brief description of their accomplishments.

A couple that I would pick would definitely be.....

T. Wayne Robertson & Red Byron

I'm surprised @ people that don't make the list of 25. Flame away if you'd like but there are people that brought us this sport and helped make it what it is today that IMO are deserving to be on that list. We are far enough into this process of placing people into the HOF that I'd like to see some media representation or more promoters in there. Ken Squire & Barney Hall come to mind pretty quick for me. Whether you like or dislike their announcing style these guys are pioneers of this sport and should be recognized. Where's Burton Smith or how about Humpy Wheeler? These guys did a lot for this sport.

I think if everyone knew what Raymond Parks did for NASCAR he'd be on everyone's list.

I don't mean to be a bit twisted or whatever but whoever is still alive on the list should go in first. With the older guys going in first. All of them are eventually going to get in anyway but why not honor them while they are still alive? At least they would be able to enjoy the ceremony with their family, get their ring, etc, etc.

I think current drivers should be allowed in. Jeff Gordon, Jimmie Johnson and Tony Stewart are going to get in on their first ballot anyways.

I agree, and the hurdle to getting in while still competing should be a stellar career like those 3. A guy like MM, who will get in, should wait until full retirement to be honored. I'm not icking on Mark, but his career numbers would be a good line to draw, IMO.

Having current drivers might help draw people to the HOF as well. I think it would be cool to see certain drivers with a HOF sticker on their cars as well.

Okay ,everybody have a good laugh at the old guys expense. I'm lucky when I'm able to turn this thing on .

Young and old alike, we've all been there. I just had a 2 page brain fart on what 'stars and bars' actually means. :(

Rusty should have a ten year waiting period . Heard him on the radio today ,politicing like DW did . Says he has the numbers , just a matter of time , willing to wait , but would be happy to get in NOW OR SOONER.:D

I'm OK with Rusty as long as he doesn't question the credentials of the guys who went in before him, like that jackass DW did for a year and a half.

I don't get the argument about putting in current drivers. I guess this means that we have throw in all of the older drivers too? Then what do we do, sit around and wait for the next up and coming driver to place into the HOF. I kinda like the way it works now. If someone is deserving they'll be in there. Sometimes I forget that I am living in a world of desired instant gratification. ;)

I've always felt that HoF sports figures etc, and their fans, should get to enjoy their OBVIOUS HoF status while still playing. The way it is, they only get honored when they are tucked away and out of sight.

Some current drivers already have stronger credentials than some that are already in the HOF.
