I tell you folks! Everything's great.

Q: What would you say to fans who are concerned about the financial future of the sport and the costs associated with racing?

France: “I would say look at history. There’s always cycles. Sometimes we have too many teams. I remember not that long ago, that Richard Petty, when he was racing couldn’t make the event for example. That happened. We’re working on it all the time. That stuff works itself out.

“Every sport has different cycles where it’s better than it was or less than it should be, whatever it is, that will work out. Our job is that if there is a way for us from a policy standpoint, as an example, getting the cost out of the system, that we are going to work, that’s where the charter agreements that we did a couple of years ago allow us to, get at those things.

“I wouldn’t worry about that for one minute if I were a fan because it just works itself out. We will make good decisions and the teams are working very closely with us to take any shortcomings out of the system and figure it out. I wouldn’t worry about that for a minute if I were a fan. I am a fan.’’

I've lost so much interest in NASCAR I just don;t give a damn anymore

Brian France echos the feelings of a lot of fans here as several seem to believe that the current condition Nascar finds itself will magically change and the series will once again become robust and a going concern.

Their financial records say everything is fine. And now it is time for the "you just wait. 7 years from now when the TV contract is up", blah blah blah. Like somehow in 7 years* poof * Nascar will disappear.

I wouldnt worry about that for a minute. Actually Im the best at not worrying. I can not worry better than anyone, believe me. Im the king of not worrying, even for a minute. We are going to cut worrying bigly.

The NASCAR television contract was the WORST deal ever signed, in the history of America. The WORST. It's terrible, believe me. We will renegotiate the TV deal, we will raise ratings. We will have the best ratings. Nobody will have better ratings than NASCAR. Believe me.

Everything is more than fine! Viewership is up year over year and the teams are not struggling to attract lucrative sponsorship. After a temporary dip in attendance everything is good again with most races sold out and some with waiting lists. The chase is a popular as ever as the first 3 races have set records for viewership and have been exciting to watch. I think if you look at the rate the race thread you will see they are all in the top 5.

Some people are having the nerve to say that the first 3 chase races are off over 20% from last year. Don't believe the lie as this rumor is just being spread by enemies of Nascar.

Having not been here very long, I'm still not sure if Nascar Apologist is being sarcastic or serious with these posts! o_O

It would help things a lot if Brian France was a race fan. By his own admission he is not, so he doesn't know instinctively what fans want. Ben Kennedy is the next one marked, to take the top spot in NASCAR management. At least he has been a driver, and is a fan of the sport.
