Not trying to push him out. Heck, he'd only be 6 back. It'd be a great story to watch him come from behind like that. I know many don't like looking at those other numbers, and that's fine. I do. I find it interest to see how it could have played out. Just a warning to all that don't like those other numbers..... I'll be posting them each week through Homestead. :cool:

Top two pretty much working out to where they should even without the manufactured excitement. Kudos to the person that came up with the new points payout. I can say that because I highly doubt that it was Brian himself.
 
Wow! The top two are still the same (basically), but there would still be 6 drivers with a mathematical shot.

Actually, I think it would be more than six. There were 150 (or so) points between first and last place in the old system. Really, even the top 10 would still be mathematically alive (sure, it would be one hell of a stretch, but still.)

I think DPK is using the current points structure but throwing out the chase and the reset of the points system.

Nope, still just four. Those points that I posted don't take the Case reseeding into account. They are straight up points as they are awarded currently. The single point per position method.

Oh, I gotcha. I thought it was under the entire old points system, not just without the chase. So it's current point system, sans chase/reset. Never mind. :oops:

No biggie. I've just never been a fan of the manufactured excitement of the Chase. I do like that they changed to the single point per position format. A much simpler system and still has proven to produce a good ending to the season without the 10 race Chase.

I love the chase reset. Can anyone guess why?
