I've never been nor will I ever be a fan of The Chase.
No matter which way you look at it a great season by Keselowski all around.
After Homestead.....

2012 Brad KeselowskiHas that happened yet? I think it might have one time where the champion was the same with both point systems but I'm not sure.
2012 Brad Keselowski
2009 Jimmie Johnson
2006 Jimmie Johnson
2005 Tony Stewart
so not something that's happened to often, but a few times that's cool I guess. Just glad Brad won it with both so we don't got to hear much of the complaining that comes from the chase each year, now we just got to hear people complain about it cause there driver can't be on the stage but hey not from me, the chase is what it is, Jr would be on the stage if not for the chase, but hey also if not for the chase who knows if he had sit out them two races, but we'll never know and will have to live with that Nascar has given us.
Tony won last year and I still say the chase is a joke. The nationwide and especially the truck series both had great championship battles this weekend. The chase isn't needed but it doesn't matter how much we complain about it cause we are stuck with it. Scary to think but we are getting close to 10 seasons of having the chase.
It might not be needed, but honestly why complain about it anymore? They clearly aren't going to listen if they hadn't by now it's just best to accept it, start to like it and then Nascar will change it
I still like it best career season finish for Kasey. One question though...how is 20th place different on the 2 sides?
The NHRA Series liked The Chase so much that they adopted it for themselves...
So did professional golf. They invented the "FedEx Cup" playoff type deal after NASCAR did too.
I'm just waiting for my beloved IndyCar to pull something like adding a 4-race playoff to the end of the year in an attempt to make the public care about something other than the Indianapolis 500. IndyCar fans are (sometimes wrongly) incredibly adverse to anything that's "NASCAR" but since American open-wheel racing has a habit of self-immolation, they'll probably try it sooner rather than later.
I like the Chase. I know many disagree, but it provides some excitement. Just because THIS year played out like it did doesn't mean we need to get rid of the Chase. There has been years 1st place would have freaking RAN AWAY with the Title. Not how fans want it to be decided. Just my .02 cents.
Oh how the Famous Brian has made it a community of this and that's. I HATE YOU BRIAN!!!!It's very simple really. THE CHASE SUCKS.

ummm. the entire season counts. When are people going to realize thatI would rather someone run away with the title before the end of the season than have the chase where only ten races count instead of the entire season.
I used to feel that the chase was entirely bogus, until Jeff Gordon said it was much harder to win a championship under this system than the full season championships he won.
People need to get over the whole chase thing. Football, baseball and Hockey all throw out season stats and start over in the playoffs. Quite often the 'lesser' team wins those titles without the fanbase crying foul.
On the other hand , people just love to crap on Nascar . They really don't need a valid reason. It's just fun to do it. Non racing fans don't have near the hatred for Nascar that we see on this forum. The chase ,phantom cautions , unfair rulings , common templates , restrictor plates , hair cuts , dress codes , the whole thing. Maybe it's just the off season , better to come back when the racing starts.
Probably not in Canada.Wait, all those are valid complaints!
Or the Czech Republic.Probably not in Canada.
Many didn't seem to like me posting this last year but I'm bringing it back anyhow.
Points after Richmond.

Nothings going to change and I know that. I simply like seeing what could have been and so far, with the new single point per position change, I don't think the fans would have been short changed on battles to the end of the year. It's too bad they couldn't have tried that change long before they decided to reward mediocre seasons by placing those drivers in contention for the championship.well in NASCAR's defens:
Chase: 12 drivers within 15 points.
Non-Chase: 4 drivers within 14 points.
Not saying i agree with the chase, just that will be their argument the whole time.

A fact that many seem to be overlooking. It is hard to do the should have could have.
JJ would not have stumbled so badly in the last four races.
Some others after securing a top 10 or locked in approched the last two events as R&D or as checkers or wreckers.
Bowyer would not have pulled the shenanigans at Richmond if his points were cumulative for every race. They also probably ran a more aggressive (blown) engine at Atlanta too thinking a win was all that mattered.
The drivers race according to how the current system rewards not on how it should without the chase. So imo you cant just compare with or without chase numbers to see who is most deserving. It provides a distorted pictue.
But I dont like the Chase either.
