Phoenix Cup

Maybe if you could get your wife to a race you'll have her hooked.

I tried - ONCE. She spent the entire race sitting on an infield lounge chair, drinking her Merlot, while chatting with some of the other NA$$CAR Widows (who were also dragged to the event by their husbands) about how miserable they all were.
NOT pretty...

But if I ever do get hooked up again, I will be certain that Race Fan is checked on her application! :D

Not sure if it has been discussed yet but did anyone notice there wasnt any Digger on FOX this race. That was nice. If there was, I didnt see it.

Spending $6.99 at Chicagoland on a little Digger diecast for my son last year was painful. But kids like Digger.

Perhaps they should make a Saturday morning cartoon for the little Nascr fans and have Digger and DW call the races ;)

NASCAR Sprint Cup Racing on FOX posted a solid 5.0/10 Sunday for the Subway Fresh Fit 500 from Phoenix. Though off -6% from last year’s 5.3/11, yesterday’s 5.0/10 ranked as the second highest-rated event of the weekend in the metered markets. It is estimated that once the national ratings are released, the Subway Fresh Fit 500 will be the highest-rated and most-watched event of the weekend. The race rating grew throughout the telecast peaking at a 5.8/11 from 6-6:15pm, but last year's race ran later and faced less competition in the closing laps which allowed last year’s race to peak at a 6.4/12 in the final quarter hour. Through the first two races of the season, NASCAR Sprint Cup Racing is averaging a 6.4/11, down -6% from last year's 6.8/15.(3-6-2012)

The race was up against MSU-OSU hoop, Lakers-Heat, Red Wings-Blackhawks and a PGA event where Tiger almost won. Under those circumstances a 5.0 is pretty damn good.
