If you see Matt tell him good luck for me.

Thanks.

Thanks.

He's going to need it, Johnson put up some impressive numbers during qualifying and practice. Matt has his work cut out for him this weekend. :D

Maybe so. But Matt is 5th and JJ is 10th in happy hour.

Yea, but Kenseth starts 14th while Johnson clinched the pole for tomorrow's race. I think Johnson is going to have another victory tomorrow. :D

Oh gods, could you imagine if Kenseth and Johnson come out of Homestead with not only the points tied up, but the wins as well? I wonder what NASCAR would do then.

They go down the most of each following position, so Johnson (as of now) would win by having one more 2nd-place finish.

I was hoping for a "Sudden Death" round. Both teams would get one hour to work on their cars to get it set up for a 40 laps race with a mandatory four tires and full tank pit-stop.

I don't think Matt starting 14th is that big of a deal. I want Matt to win the Cup, but if JJ's wins the race tomorrow I'd be fine with that. He's my best pick in the Chase game. :)

nascar would love it if they were tied for points and wins after Homstead. The tie breaker is the most next best finishes, as in the most 2nd place finishes. If that's a tie then the tie breaker is the most 3rd place finishes, and so on until the tie is broken.

edit: What FLRacingFan said.

Well I'm finally back home and I can start watching these races again! Just in time for the final 2 races.

Let's go racing boys & girls!

Gordon showing good speed on all practices. Good sign.

Who else is going to the race? Just got into town this afternoon. Gonna go out in Glendale tonight then head to the speedway early, heard traffic is a bitch.

If you dont have a parking pass go plenty early ----------------------Its going to be CRAZY
enjoy the race !!!!

I'm staying on I-10 at Exit 139. Was gonna leave at 10, for those that have been to Phoenix before how long does it take from when you exit the freeway to the track?

I like the sudden death round also.

I know it's apples and oranges to some degree, but can you imagine the Super Bowl being tied at the end of regulation and the NFL championship being decided by a tie-breaker statistic ?

I hate these late starts.
I love these late starts. More tailgaiting time.
Enjoy the race everyone. Could not ask for a better day.

Damn fine picture.

Thanks, man.
I'm popping open my 4th one right now.
Steaks are almost done.
It don't get any better than this.
I'll rate this race later (if capable), but it's a 10 for sure right now.

That is a great picture. What kind of camera did you take it with?

Depends on how early you leave, I left from the Phoenix suburb area at around 8am and had no problems getting in, getting out took about an hour and a half, but once on the highway it was a piece of cake.

Man these guys on ESPN better not sleep on Matt, I mean I'm all for the 48 bowtie but don't sleep on Matt that's all i'm sayin.

all it takes is somebody knocking either one of them into the wall like yesterday with Kez and it is all over.

Any thoughts on how the 2 title contenders teammates may factor into the championship equation? Is Kahne harbouring any ill-will? Will Hamlin try too hard to win a race and do something stupid? KyBu? Gordon?

Nice glasses, Ray

Historically Teammates in Nascar have very little to do with it. Yesterday was a good example. Hornish bulled his way past Keselowski. Kez let him have the spot, but he wasn't at all happy about it. So as far as helping a teammate, I haven't seen that happen. I think it is more JJ's and Matt's responsibility to watch out for them.

Let's say the #20 & #48 are tied next week going into Homestead and one of them qualifies 2nd behind a teammate...does that teammate not take the best pit box and instead let it go to P2?

I don't think so. They don't have that much time to decide which pit box to pick..

Well, got some wings in the fridge, letting the coating set, so I'm ready to watch some racing:cheers:
