Iggy Nore.Iggy Azalea?
Iggy Nore.Iggy Azalea?
Honestly man, eff option 2. I don't think I'll ever use the ignore button. I'd much rather see everyone's posts even if I find some of them objectionable. You have two choices:
1.) Deal wiffit.
2.) Hit the Iggy buttone.
The obvious advantage to not hitting the Iggy buttone is the systematic auto-renewal of the reason for the distaste of a specific poster. It is a good option for those with age-related retrospective degeneration.Honestly man, eff option 2. I don't think I'll ever use the ignore button. LOL. Fair enough. The obvious advantage to not hitting the Iggy buttone is the systematic auto-renewal of the reason for the distaste of a specific poster. It is a good option for those with age-related retrospective degeneration.
You post a poll to get a gist of what the members think and when it comes in 12 to 2 against your idea you want to do it anyway. I dontgiveasheetship I'll screw this up if I want to.Looks like an overwhelming support of "no" & "doesn't matter to me".
Would the mods allow for an experiment? @TexasRaceLady Say I create & manage a twitter account for the forum for a set length of time & see how this forum is effected?
Or is a plain old "no" sufficient?
Well if the majority of the members members got their way around here all the time just based on polls, this would be another nasty forum. You post a poll to get a gist of what the members think and when it comes in 12 to 2 against your idea you want to do it anyway. I would be all for the bolded, to be honest. I think "boys have at it" should be a forum-wide policy. That's not my call to make, though, and it probably wouldn't be best for business.Well if the majority of the members got their way around here all the time just based on polls, this would be another nasty forum.
People dont like change. Keep things the way they are... status-quo is enjoyable. Things cant possibly get anymore better than they already are.
It would be a limited experiment - not a campaign written in stone. Sheesh.

Not to get political, but that second line almost sounds, dare I say...liberal. You're scaring me, Checkers.

We already have enough people on here.
The problem I have ---- it's MY inbox that fills up with complaints that I have to deal with.
Okay, this is where I disagree with some of you on the "no" side.I voted for "doesn't matter to me," but the more I think about it, the more I think "no" would've been a better vote.
We already have enough people on here. Too many people to keep track of would not be a better thing IMO.
By different people, or is it always the same 2 or 3 posters that come to you with it?
YEP.I'll get complaints from numbers of posters about varying subjects.
Genuine racing fans will find us.
It's the "fan of the moment" that hits and runs that causes discord and mayhem. Believe me, I've seen plenty of
those in the last 13 years. They can get so bad that long-time members leave and don't come back.
I'm not too surprised. I was a moderator on another forum ages ago. It be's like that sometimes.Wow I didnt even know people went outta their way to complain to her. Kinda like running off to mom when another kid calls you a poopyhead, imo.
I moderated 2 forums (related to a game) a few years ago. We had a complaint subforum that normally stayed empty. For that reason we renamed the subforum complaints and cobwebs. Granted we used a chain of command system when it came to resolving issues with other members so most of the time complaints hardly ever reached my level.I'm not too surprised. That's what's up, man. That place must have had some cool people on it with thick skin. Either that, or it was run really well.I moderated 2 forums (related to a game) a few years ago. Different strokes.

Let me make sure I understand this correctly. There is a poll, the results are unfavorable to the person posting the poll and still they want to go ahead. Why run the poll in the first place if the results don't matter?
Must be some 'hanging chads'. Maybe a manual count was done?Let me make sure I understand this correctly. There is a poll, the results are unfavorable to the person posting the poll and still they want to go ahead. Why run the poll in the first place if the results don't matter?

I agree with everything except that last sentence.I have a feeling a complaint subforum here would have to be renamed "The Bitch Zone". It would be endless bitching back and forth about some he said she said billsh#t. Oh wait we call that place the Podium.
I agree with everything except that last sentence.
If the Podium was just a bunch of whining before, it isn't anymore. There are some good, no-holds-barred discussions in there about serious topics, and even so, it stays a lot more civil than you would expect.
I stick my head in from time to time. threads usually end up Andy and Whizz vs eveeryone else.
Again, not to get political, but that's just because the conservatives far outnumber the liberals/libertarians in that section. If more of y'all would go over there and speak up, it wouldn't be like that.I stick my head in from time to time. threads usually end up Andy and Whizz vs eveeryone else.
Man, if only I had executive power to override the decision when everyone else said no.Let me make sure I understand this correctly. There is a poll, the results are unfavorable to the person posting the poll and still they want to go ahead. Why run the poll in the first place if the results don't matter?
If that happened this forum would go the way of the other racing forums over the last few years. That's exactly why they are now deceased. This is my third go round and SN over the years with this place ( I think the other two disappeared with system upgrades or whatnot) and I think that with warts and all It's the best racing forum ever and that's because the owner and the staff members do their best to keep it somewhat civil and clean. I like this place and in my opinion some things don't need upgrading- to be modernized- progressive or anything else. Just stay a place to come have fun and talk about racing. Bottom line is all that other crap is what redditt and other sites are for.I would be all for the bolded, to be honest. I think "boys have at it" should be a forum-wide policy. That's not my call to make, though, and it probably wouldn't be best for business.

Agreed, and like I said in that post, I acknowledge that my personal view wouldn't be best for business. If that happened this forum would go the way of the other racing forums over the last few years. I for one don't think we should follow the cesspool model. As it is, many posters forget that this is mainly a racing forum for racing lovers who want good credible information about the auto racing world. That is the core of this place that holds it together.
Having to wade thru all the Gordon sucks, Look Jr's underwear , Boyer is my babies daddy crap, and all the profanity is a waste of time that the twitter is known for, and has nothing to do with a thick skin. I have learned a lot, and shared a lot and we don't suffer fools around here for long. So as it is, racing fans come here and this place continues to grow. Fill it up with B.S. and it will go the way of many other forums. If you just love your twitter, great twit away, but it ain't no racing forum.this is.

Ahh, okay. No need to apologize. Thanks for the clarification.sorry about that, no, not at all that way personal. There is a constant force IMO to change things just for the sake of change. I was trying to point out that we have a pretty good formula that works if you are a racing fan and want to be somewhere where you can learn more and share info, and this place isn't here to win a gossip/popularity contest.
Everyone cheats. Its all a matter of who gets caught. If nobody pushed the limits, this sport would never progress..
hendricks team calling somebody out for cheating…talk about pot calling kettle black….they have been cheating for years now they get away with because they are government funded…
