(Stages: 75/190/312 laps = 312 miles)

1.0 mile Asphalt Dogleg oval
First Cup Race: 1988
All Time Cup Wins: Kevin Harvick (9) Most Current Cup Wins: Kevin Harvick (9)

And Then there were 4....The Phoenix Raceway hosts this week’s NASCAR Cup Series Finale as the conclusion of the 2021 NASCAR Cup Playoffs and the 2021 NASCAR Cup season commences with only 4 drivers left having the chance to be crowned Champion. It’s a championship race, winner take all for the 4 Championship participants who grinded out a 26 race regular season and then expertly navigated through the unpredictably of a 10 race playoff. Who will leave desert of Arizona as the 2021 NASCAR Cup Series Champion?

He's not the favorite and I think that is a good place for Chase to be

I’ve said it before but I really hope they rotate the championship race each season in future schedules. If NASCAR desires to mimic other sports like they have done with The Playoffs then I hope a rotation of this race is in the cards for the future. It’d be a fresh venue each year like the Super Bowl or College Football Championship Game does it. And you can make a big deal of it each year at each schedule unveiling doe the upcoming season. I’d rotate (markets as well as track entertainment is taken into account here) Homestead, Vegas, Nashville Fairgrounds (if Cup ends up going there), Atlanta, Texas, Phoenix and Fontana.

And for those who prefer it much like myself there will be a 50 minute practice on Friday November 5th followed by on track qualifying on Saturday November 6th
I don't think anyone dislikes P&Q. There are some of us who don't think P&Q will return to being regular parts of every weekend schedule, but we don't dislike them.

The big markets are meaningless for the Cup championship because most people in those markets are focused on the NFL and NBA. It would be much more beneficial for NASCAR to end their season at tracks that matter to diehards...such as Martinsville, Bristol, Darlington, Richmond.

Historically, NASCAR seems to disagree with this sentiment.

*that should be for the upcoming season. sorry about that.

DFW is one of NASCAR's biggest markets, I would assume if they went to this model that track would be in the discussions
Only if they completely rebuild as a short track

If they were so widely popular, they would be televised, but the bottom line is they aren't. Only Nascar nerds like myself watch them.
Next year with the new car there will be plenty of both

NBC isn’t that bad. Just think Burton with DJ should be on pit road & Rutledge Wood and Kyle Petty should do a Trackside Live type show in the midway area.
you can think all ya want. The reality is that there are 4 gerbils that will all be speaking at the same time.

I would like to see Rick, Jr, and Steve be separated from Burton. Maybe they wouldnt be as high pitched.

oh I meant that statement since there was a spirited discussion about it last week around here I figured that'd be good for some to know.

The more I think of it, Chase is the low key favorite. He's been there and done it before. MTJ is just happy to be there, and Larson and Hamlin have tons of pressure on them. Larson to cash in and finish off an amazing season, and Hamlin carries 15 years and a reputation as a choker on his shoulders. We've already seen that Hamlin isn't the strongest mentally. I really think it comes down to the 5 and 9. Any nerves Larson may be feeling will be compensated for by the ice in his crew chief's veins. Should be a fun one!
