RACE thread --- The Open and the All-Star

So I left before the fight, finally seen it, and damn, I like Clint, but that was a chicken **** move he pulled, I lost some respect for him, I don't care if Newman deserved it, attacking another driver that is still in their car with your damn helmet on, you should be embarrassed Clint.

Making the Chase and being sponsor gold says he's not going anywhere. SHR has kept drivers around for longer for less.

Mostly it's the inability to get a straight translation when I can't find it Googling. It looks like no one agrees what the Hell 'yeet' means.

But this Newman/Boyer thing was no "fight". It was one idiot that lost his temper and class pounding on a defenseless guy sitting in his car. Stupidest thing I have seen in Nascar yet. The sad thing is it is getting all the headlines ignoring the winner of the race that is only the second guy to win it after winning the "B" main.

The cameras immediately went to Bowyer running to Newmans car right in the middle of Larsons celebration. What joke. They could have replayed it. WWE crap.

Look at the replay - Newman’s tires riding straight along the white lines while Bowyer comes down to clip him and LOL sends hisself into the wall. WHOOPS-A-DAZEE!!

Hilarious self-own in car followed by chicken-$hit punch with-a-helmet-on while dood sits with his helmet off strapped in his car.

The funniest (most pathetic) part of the whole deal is the chicken$hit KEEPING HIS HELMET ON afterwards when Newman comes over to confront him man-to-man....my gosh what a (Mike Tyson voice) ‘scared coward’.

Wonder if Clint’ll Still be wearing that helmet at Outdoor World lol.

The penalty for Clint should be he has to wear a ballerina costume next couple races.

In all seriousness, there’s no need for Clint to be fined or probation, the amount of grief he’s gonna get in the garage over that will be more punishment than anything nascar could hope to mete out.

This is why nascar is stupid. This race is supposedly one of the sports biggest and most hyped events, behind only the Daytona 500, Brickyard, Coke 600, Southern 500, etc. and the race doesn’t count for points or getting into the chase, and doesn’t even count as a career win. Don’t get me wrong, I’m thrilled Larson won and would take any kind of win for him at this point. But it does make you wonder why we should give a **** about this event

All-star stats don't count in other sports either. It's the best of the best getting together and being showcased in a no stress environment (someone tell Bowyer) for strictly entertainment purposes.
 
Looks like they raced pretty hard for that million bucks. I didn't see anything stupid about it. A person can choose not to watch if they think it is a waste of time. Trying to persuade others to not watch? :idunno: I know I got my money's worth. I don't really know or care about the "we's".

Can we just make every race a money race and eliminate points all together? Maybe crown a champion based on total dollars won? It was some of the best racing we have seen in a long time. So many chances taken and little give and take which gave it an old school feel. I'm sure if it were like this every week we would tire of it, but man that was fun from the start.
 
Hey, did anyone see any sign of Richard at the Race? I just thought about it and dont remember seeing him in the Garage while they were interviewing Bubba.
 
Pretty cool clip. Larson's run up thru the open race to win the third stage. Shows Byron/Bubba's stage one and Bubba/Suarez stage two finishes from a birds eye perspective

Eh, upon further review, I see what you're saying and I'll have a slice of humble pie with that. Let it be noted that I still don't care for either one of them. :lol2::lol2::lol2:

I was really disappointed that he still didn't have his helmet off by the time Ryan had come over. Most pathetic part of the whole deal? Absolutely. Apparently, a lot of people think he will still be wearing the HANS. Just as well. After all, Clint's got another disadvantage - at least Ryan can throw some throat punches at Clint, if you catch my drift. :lol2:

The other drivers probably already view him as being a ballerina.
