Racing in Cali-forn-i-a :)

Does anyone know if they are still thinking of running the Nationwide race after this one? I know it's only approaching 6pm in Cali, but still...

If I were a betting person, I'd say that they won't even finish this race tonight. So the Nationwide race is probably going to be run tomorrow. Probably the the rest of this race as well. :(

I guess I can safely say --Gordon --- not Robbie!! And the he is a she and I like Ricky used to watch him race here. I also like Jr,Bobby labonte, and Jeff Burton. Gordon's crew chief grew up in the next town from me.

Well I defently want to welcome you if you are a #24 fan. :beerbang:

yeah, now that it's raining, I'm guessing they'll both be run tommorrow. oh well.

I realize it's probably going to be suspicious in my boss' eyes when I have to leave work early tomorrow because of flu-like symptoms about 20 minutes before the race starts, but hey, chit happens. :idunno:

If I gotta be sick, by God, there better be a good race on tv to keep me entertained. :beerbang:

(I'm really not sick, btw)

I rather have them race it tomorrow then 150 laps tonight.

Question....

When they postponed this race, will they reset the laps to 0 or will they restart it at lap 87?

tkj24 --- I love Gordon-- I have followed him from the begining. Everham,-sp days and on and on. I miss Robbie Loomis as his crew chief though. I really like him. I'm glad he is a Petty though. I miss seeing him. Too many people give me a hard time liking him but they can kiss my ***!People just don't like him because he is good!! I like Waltrip too a lot of people don't like him either.

And it is Craven I'm talking about. he is a real class act around here. He has as much class off the track as he did on.

I'm glad I own the company I work for. The boss may take a long lunch or an extended brunch break!!:D

Reck,
They SHOULD restart the race at 0 and let all those guys that wrecked pull out backups.

:bsflag:
^ Absolute crap what went on tonight. Saw A LOT of empty seats there as well when they went green.

Methinks California's gonna lose a date.

If they do go back racing tonight, are they going to replay the race tomorrow in it's entirety for us east coast fans that have to work tomorrow and had to miss the race because it's west coast bs? j/w

An overnight red flag should restart it at lap 87 if they don't restart tonight.
If they do restart tonight I would think it will be cut somewhat short around 10 or 11 tonight.
I don't see the Nationwide race running until tomorrow the way things are going.
Just my 2 cents
:beerbang: :beerbang: :beerbang:

Did they call it until Monday? Coverage isn't even on the TV now. I stepped out for ten minutes and now I have the Simpsons. What the hell?

NASCAR Live continues at...

11pm EST on FOX

The rain has stopped, the track is dry. Pre-re-race on at 11pm, expecting a green flag around 12 or 12:30AM EST if the weather holds. That's right, NASCAR will attempt the race tonight even though their primary fanbase is long past asleep by then.

What kinda wide open bull #### is this?

They're totally screwing us east coast fans out of this race.

I agree that east coast fans are getting screwed. It's just way to late on what is a worknight for most. In fact it's way too late for me here on the west coast. Gotta be at work at 6 A.M.
Nascar also needs to consider the people working this event, from TV people to hot dog vendors. I imagine most of them have been there since very early this morning.

I've got to go to bed. What happens, happens. It looks like I'm going to miss the 24 Hours at SoCal 500.

I wouldn't complaint if they were to restart it at 0.

Jeff Still has a fast car so leading laps wont be a problem...I think

And since those guys wrecked because of the track been wet I think they should let those guys bring their backup cars.

And since they have run 87 laps they should let everyone chance engines since this place is notorious for breaking down engines..I think its a win-win situation for both us the fans and NASCAR.

This has been a wierd weekend for racing, that's for sure.

Jeff Has a fast car. But the 31 in going to come from the back. JJ and JG are going to crash each other....

Well i predicted jr would crash. I was right their, so here is hoping :beerbang:

Texas u have been to 40 races??? Is that in a year or your entire NASCAR life??

Most of those races have been since 1994 --- I've been a fan since 1979.

These are the tracks that I've been to ------

Texas
Las Vegas
Michigan
Talladega
Atlanta
Daytona
Miami
Charlotte
Bristol
Dover
Darlington
Richmond
Martinsville
Indianapolis

We've been to the track as tourists- and my aunt used to live up the road (viewing distance) from the track.

What my dad brought up, if theres no curfew there, there sure as heck will be one after city council meets next time.

Nascar.com is reporting that Nascar plans as 11pm eastern to get the race back underway by midnight eastern.

That's totally ridiculous..

Midnight thunder!!!!!

Going to sleep in about half an hour. I will just check the highlights tomorrow.

If Speed does like they normally do the replay will be Thursday afternoon.

The covorage here is back to local shows. Has the race restarted yet?

UPDATE: Due to the length of the delay Nascar is allowing all teams to use backup cars is they so choose. Also all cars will be placed back on the lead lap. This is in no way an effort to help Dale Earnhardt Jr. win for the first time in two years. Nascar does nothing to help drivers that they think they can make a bigger profit if they are successful.

There is NASCAR manipulating the outcome of a race..

Now they say 1 am eastern time. And since there is no rain in the forecast they plan on doing all 500 miles. This is a little ridiculous It'll be almost 12 hours from the origional start time till the finish. Hopefully noone falls asleep at the wheel.

Direct quote from NASCAR.com

At 12:02 a.m. ET, NASCAR has all inentions of running the race in its entirety. Weather reports show no further rain is in the radar. The plan is to go back racing by 1 a.m. ET.

Betsy:rolleyes:

Wow they Sent Kevin to the rear after a legal pit stop. Then they let JR have a back up car? Glad nascar doesn't show HMS any favoritism

Nah guys, that was me playing around. :D

NASCAR wont do such thing...or will they? lol

Damn im going to crash harder then jr if they dont get going...

The Auto Club 500 has been postponed until 1 p.m. ET on Monday, Feb. 24. The decision was made at 2 a.m. ET after track-drying efforts.

Homestead would be a race i wouldn't mind going to. We were thinking of going to the Glen this year. Any thoughts??!!

Welcome! Well, my daughter and I will be at The Glen!! Lots of tickets for seats still available, but I already had a heckova time finding a motel who didn't want to lock you in for 4 nights and $175 ea(!), but there's camping, although no reserved camping left at the track for RVs. There's also a State Park closeby, as well as a few others that aren't online. You can make reservations now online for the State Park. People say if you look on ebay you can find people selling RV camping passes off (and I did see some) when the race gets closer and they find they can't go. Just remember, SI voted The Glen the BEST race of 2007! I sure would be glad to have some more Gordon fans there. ;)

Glad I kept staying up since they kept saying they were going racing. Grrrrrrrrr..... Ya think they could have decided before 2AM EST?!!!!!!!!! Got tape set to go for 1PM. It better not start raining again, that's all I have to say!!!!!!!!!
