Racing in Cali-forn-i-a :)

WNY24fan---Thanks! We have a Monoco Rv and would be going in our coach. Do you know if they have passes for overflow camping? Or can you just show up???

We go to the races at Louden and we love it there! We have our camping passes in Section U right above turn 1 + 2!!! We leave our house in Maine Wens. morning and usually get a great spot. 5 days of "kids free" Livin'!!!:D

I guess if the race is cancelled from last night---" An early release from work" is a must for me!!:D "The boss's sick!";)

Welcome Maine1 -

I go a yearly pilgrimage somewhere, usually Martinsville but lately we have been trying other venues. Been to Darlington, Daytona, Martinsville Rockingham (Miss it!!!) and N. Wilksboro :) and of course Richmond

Last year was the best though. Got AT&T Suite Tickets to Bristol and watched the race next to Richard Childress in the suite with free booze and food the whole night!!! Woo-Hoo!!!!

UPDATE: Due to the length of the delay Nascar is allowing all teams to use backup cars is they so choose. Also all cars will be placed back on the lead lap. This is in no way an effort to help Dale Earnhardt Jr. win for the first time in two years. Nascar does nothing to help drivers that they think they can make a bigger profit if they are successful.

There is NASCAR manipulating the outcome of a race..

Yet whenever they help Gordon get a win, you have no problem with it. I just call it as I see it. :idunno:

I agree with letting all the cars on the lead lap and everybody bring in backups. What happened last night, totally uncalledfor.

wolfcub--"free booze":beerbang: We have friends who start the week before and make Jello shots by the BIG coolers full. They must make about 3000 of them. All we have to do is show up!!! Strawberry, pina colada, cherries in the middle, grape, and "slurpie side"<---combo of everything they had left over thrown into the left over containers! AHHH just like I was in HS all over again!!

I have never been to any other tracks during race time but we did stop at Daytona, Lowes, and Darlington on the way back from Ft Myers Beach a few years ago. We also spent a couple of days in the Concord area looking at race shops on that trek too. Hendrick,DEI, and Roush! not to mention did a ride around in the Petty Exp. at Lowes too!

Funny thing is Lowes is closest to me and I have never been LOL

It took a while, but I gained a load of respect for Craven late in his Cup carreer. Sure hated that he lost his ride.

MAINE1, Buckaroo is a slow starter in recognizing real racing talent in a race car. Buck is the coach for Loren of the GEICO commercials and spends most of his time at the local "tracks". Read that to mean local go-kart fun park !!!!!!:D

Just kidding about Ole Buck. Buck is okay until you get him in a political discussion and then he recites Rush Limbaugh at length !!!!!!!!!!
BOR-RINGGGGG !!!!!! ;)

While jello shots are good have you ever inject strawberries, grapes and the like directly. You can buy a diabetic needle for 10 cents and load up your fruit. I've found that vodka or gin works better than the brown stuff.

I have to give that a "shot". Get it? Shot.

Seriously though, that does sound good. I never thought of that.

There's "unreserved" camping in many places at the track. The only problem if you have an RV is, there's only electric hook-up in the reserved camping. I think all the electric sites at the State campground are gone already, too. If you can live w/o having your electric (which is a bummer I would think w/the perks of having an RV) then you can get unreserved camping. I'd still get tickets for camping when I got my tickets if I were you. I don't know that they've ever run out of space for unreserved, but just to be safe........... and the earlier you get there, the better spots you'll find. You can check on "theglen.com" and check out the forum. There's lots of people who are great at giving advice about locations, etc. Hope you make it! Sounds great that you can go "kid-free." We never managed that for a lot of years except for maybe an over-night. :)
