Ram Truck Team?

Toyota may well treat Legacy the same as JGR and 23XI, but on the track they're a third-tier team. Tier 1 teams have drivers in the top 10, not outside the top 20 looking in.
23XI is a JGR affiliate....they get whatever they pay JGR for. Legacy is a Tier 1...they get what Toyota gives JGR. It's the in team talent that determines where they run. I'm sure you have seen the moves Legacy has been making, and I am sure that you are seeing Erik closer to the front than before.

So according to you, HMS runs Chevy, and RCR, Trackhouse, etc are just afterthoughts getting the scraps.....but Legacy is on JGR's level?

LOLOLOLOLOL
Legacy gets the same stuff as JGR. Yes. I mean, The Felon even went so far as to neuter Ross while Marks looked on. Who the hell ever gave another owner access to dictate terms to one of his drivers? Ever? RCR is a joke....and has been for a long time.

eh kinda, kinda not.

TRD is the primary supplier of manufacturer-specific parts (e.g., engines, body components) for Toyota teams, not JGR itself. There is no direct evidence that JGR acts as a parts supplier to other Toyota teams like 23XI Racing or Legacy Motor Club.
Technical Alliance Between JGR and 23XI Racing:
  • JGR has a technical alliance with 23XI Racing, a Toyota-affiliated team co-owned by Denny Hamlin and Michael Jordan. This alliance, formed in 2021, involves sharing technical data, resources, and expertise to enhance performance.

  • While this alliance implies collaboration on engineering and development, it does not explicitly confirm that 23XI Racing purchases physical parts directly from JGR. Instead, both teams likely source manufacturer-specific parts (e.g., engines) from TRD, as TRD is the centralized engine supplier for Toyota teams.

  • The technical alliance suggests that JGR’s expertise and data (e.g., from wind tunnel testing or simulation) may benefit 23XI Racing, but this is distinct from selling physical parts.

Byron the 2027 champion driving the #24 Charger for HMS. :beerbang:  ;) ;) :whoopee:

I've heard time and time again that there's a pecking order at Chevrolet. But but but not with Ford, and certainly not with Toyota....just Chevy and "the felon" running the show, and all those other poor Chevy teams are lucky for whatever support they can get.

Supposedly, Gibbs and Stewart-Haas left Chevrolet because they weren't getting enough attention. Noooo, it had nothing to do with money, right?

Remember when Red Bull left the sport, and the only Toyota teams outside of Gibbs and Waltrip was JTG Daughtery? And they switched to Chevrolet. Hmmm.....
With all that you have "heard," I am sure that you heard that JGR was pissed about the Legacy deal. Wonder why. You probably heard about The Felon calling Marks' driver to chew him out for driving his babies too hard. Wonder why. You probably also heard that Red Bull was never serious about NASCAR, and that JTG was in over its head. Where is JTG now by the way? But you keep going, and keep calling a grown ass man "Mr. H." like he is a kindergarten teacher or something.

Who the hell said anything about parts? The parts are all the same. Duh. It's the IP....Legacy and JGR are one and the same in the eyes of TRD....and JGR isn't super happy about that....

<desperately re-reading this discussion to see how Toyota came into it>

EDIT <ah, random speculation about potential Dodge Cup teams years down the road, when no details for Truck teams have been announced yet>

Mention a rice burner and here we go. All in good fun talking about a back marker team with 2 drivers who are running in the 20's, and the third in 34th.

I thought it was pretty interesting myself. Previously the teams all had to go thru JGR for all of their stuff. So I thought it was pretty comical that the cut throater, sold out Joe got cut throated by TRD when they brought in that powerhouse team Legacy into the fold and made everybody buy thru TRD for their pieces they make taking out the middleman.
TRD aparently doesn't trust their teams to make anything like the Ford and Chevy teams can and do.

This post is your biggest pile of crap yet. Holy smokes.

See, that's the difference between 'Mr. H.' and 'Felon', 'Jeffy', 'Cutie Pie', et. al. Probably millions say 'Mr H.'; you're the only one who uses the others.
I tend to go my own way....I am a Toyota fan after all. All in good fun. I mean there's the Sold Out Joe, Preacher, etc. thing that goes on around here, but the reverence for The Felon is impressive. Kiss the ring.

That's what everyone on the team calls him., and a lot of other people in the industry. As a respectful nickname, how does it different from 'The Captain', 'The Cat in the Hat', or 'Coach'?
I literally have never heard a kindergarten teacher called The Captain, etc. Mr. H, B, C, T......whatever......heard it a bunch. It is very cute.

I thought you were just messing around at first. This is some, uh, interesting math, to say the least.
If Stellantis has someone with a viable plan to quadruple the NASCAR fan base, NASCAR needs to hire him or her away yesterday, assuming IndyCar hasn't already made an offer.

I read where viewers of the Coca Cola 600 on Prime had a median age of 55.8 compared to 62.8 for Cup races on linear networks. Do you think this 7 year age reduction will remain about the same for all the races on Prime?

The only teams I could see is Thorsport and GMS possibly making a return, I could see those two organizations making the move.

Thorsport kinda goes where the support is the best at the time. Already an established organization as well, I could see them making that step.

I'm not sure what if any support CR7 is getting with Enfinger? He really elevates that team I feel.

Heck looking at it there are only 8 teams in the top 23 in owners points right now.

Here those teams are and the trucks they own some outside the top 23.

TRICON Garage (11, 17, 15, 1, 5)
Front Row Motorsports (38, 34)
McAnally Hilgerman Racing (19, 18, 91, 81)
CR7 Motorsports (9)
Spire Motorsports (7, 07, 71, 77)
Niece Motorsports (45, 44, 42)
ThorSport Racing (98, 13, 99, 88, 66)
Halmar Friesen Racing (52)

Here's the rest of the field from highest in points team to lowest with their truck numbers

Rackley W.A.R (26)
Freedom Racing Enterprises (76, 67)
Resume Brothers Racing (22, 33, 2)
Young's Motorsports (02, 20)
Henderson Motorsports (75)
Hill Motorsports (56)
Terry Carroll Motorsports (90)
Norm Benning Racing (6)
Cook Racing Technologies (84)
Hettinger Racing (4)
Akinori Performance (no number listed)
GK Racing (95)
FDNY Racing (28)

So to boil it down Ram is either going to

1) flip a big team which eliminates several imo like Tricon (Toyota) Spire (Chevy) Front Row (Ford)
2) flip one of the remaining big teams. I'd rule out Friesen they've had to much chaos to want to switch manufacturers again.
3) pick a smaller team, unless they are going to give one of these small teams a massive investment they will be running junk. Because as we see most of the top 25 is the 8 bigger teams.
4) upgrade a part time team to full. Same problem as 3 they aren't good outside of Henderson and the story is about how small they are when they run good, they don't strike me as wanting to go full time like this.
5) Bring in a new team entirely, this is what I think they need to do or will do. But that creates its own problems...especially if you have a driver like Cleetus as has been rumored with no truck experience.

Niece or Thorsport would be decent teams to grab.

Cleetus? I don't look at social media so all I know about the guy is he's had a couple of ARCA starts. If Ram wants to build its marketing campaign around social media presence, what little I've heard indicates he'd probably be a good choice. If they want to build around on-track performance, does he have anything to contribute?

He has 3 ARCA starts has crashed in 2 of them...you wouldn't want to start up something with just him. One of the podcasts I was listening to this week mentioned Rette Jones Racing the team he drives for in ARCA as being a possible team that could make the move up. GMS was rumored to be returning but that's apparently cooled down.
