Random NASCAR Stuff to talk about.....

Surgery went great! Plus side, hospital has a Chic fil A #spicychicken

I think he's out for the season with a broken sternum.
That sucks.

On a related note..... Anyone remember when Dale Earnhardt broke his sternum and still climbed in the car the next weekend? I think he broke his collarbone as well. He finished out the season.

Another Michigan pic.

@dcaraviello
Interesting penalty -- #NASCAR suspends Nationwide driver Jeremy Clements indefinitely for violating sanctioning body's code of conduct.

#NASCAR sr vice pres Steve O'Donnell says "during the course of an interview, Jeremy Clements made an intolerable and insensitive remark."

@jeff_gluck
Dunno if this is it, but I just found an interview with Clements from last week in which he speculated NASCAR fixed the pole for Danica.

@bobpockrass
NASCAR rule prohibits "public statement … that criticizes, ridicules, or otherwise disparages another person ....

... based upon...race, color, creed, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, marital status, religion, age or handicapping condition.”

Insensitive to whom? He must have insulted Prince Brian's manhood in order to receive that sort of a penalty.

Certainly he didn't have anything bad to say about Daytona International Speedway! That would be like referring to the Vatican as an outhouse.

I heard stories. Those old timers were tough as hell.

Rumor is that he claimed France's family secret ties to Palestine put the screws to American Israel Racing

@jeff_gluck this has nothing to do with it. Feel free to ask the driver.

dpk, apparently Andy picked up on this story from your news wire, so now we have a thread about it.

Good to see Landon back in a ride:

Circle Sport, LLC, announced that Landon Cassill will drive the #33 Circle Sport entry beginning this weekend at Phoenix International Raceway. Cassill, the 23-year-old former development driver for Hendrick Motorsports, will pilot the #33 Moon Shine Wildfire Camo Chevrolet SS in Sunday’s Subway Fresh Fit 500. Cassill enters the weekend event with 84 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series starts to his credit, in addition to 33 NASCAR Nationwide Series and eight NASCAR Camping World Truck Series starts. Cassill, who competed in all 36 Sprint Cup Series races last year for BK Racing, will mark his 2013 Sprint Cup Series debut in a specially outfitted camouflage Chevrolet SS designed by Moon Shine Attitude Attire. The Cedar Rapids, Iowa, native will be led by NASCAR veteran Mike Hillman, Sr., who has won three NASCAR championships with drivers Tommy Ellis and Todd Bodine. Circle Sport enters its second season of NASCAR competition in 2013 and continues to be owned by Joe Falk, a Virginia businessman who has been a part of the sport since the late 1990s. Falk previously fielded the #91 Sprint Cup entry for drivers Dick Trickle, Greg Sacks, Kevin Lepage, Mike Wallace and Todd Bodine, which included a top-five finish in 1998 season finale at Atlanta Motor Speedway.

How many development drivers can rick have. He's got two in the wings and four superstars in cars. How many people is he going to retire by the time these kids are ready? But then again it's Rick, not JGR.

Who is the other one? I only know of Chase Elliott.
