Random NASCAR Stuff to talk about.....

Matt Kenseth and Trevor Bayne teamed up to wreck the golf car carrying Mrs. Busch as they thought that Vickers was the diver...you know, while we're talking through our FATTYBEGONE :D

The last part of this (which I refuse to believe) is that they're blaming Jack Roush because he was their spotter.

Jack was quoted "I thought she was clear. My eye decieved me"

"I don't understand. I made sure she was eating the right foods and getting her rest".

Those comments by Jack during the 2011 chase always annoyed me. His playing health adviser to Carl Edwards was a bit much.

Are you going to call them even if everything is working correctly?

whens NASCAR` gona replace the fall Dega race with the road corse in Texas?

I believe the main problem with Nascar racing is that not enough emphasis is placed on winning. Points are spaced too evenly and that makes it suitable to stay back, out of trouble, and get whatever points you can.
Major point differences should be awarded for winning and leading the most laps. After all, the goal is to win, Right?

Gotta strongly disagree . First , the winner gets the most points , so winning is the most important thing . Second ,these guys race to win, have since they were kids in go carts .When you see a Tony Stewart , a Kevin Harvick or a Jeff Gordon in 15th , it sure as heck ain't because he wants to be there . It's because there were 14 better cars on track that day .If a driver tells himself or his crew that he had a good points day , it' s to keep up his and the team morale . It sure as heck ain't what he's thinking .

Denny Hamlin tried to show us how important he thinks the points are yesterday on that last lap. Also, try asking Carl Edwards how important a single point is. I bet he has some thoughts on that subject.

One point or finishing one position higher in the 36 races that counted in 2011 would have turned cousin Carl into a cup champion.

Winning one more of the first 26, or finishing 1 position higher in any one of the chase races would have made him champ. But how much can we expect from a driver who sat in his trailer at Homestead practicing how to be the very best loser nascar has ever seen? His words, not mine.

And you don't believe Tony had rehearsed a first loser speech?

No way Tony sat in the trailer even thinking about being a good loser. Image conscious Carl is the only driver I think would do that. Hell, I didn't think it was even possible.

I posted a link to the Daytona 500 Edition of this digital magazine on it's own thread but I just got a link for people to sign up for their free subscription. Check it out. It's called ROAR! they basically take the best press releases from Jayski, NASCAR Media, individual teams/drivers and publish the best of them once a week previewing the upcoming race and reviewing last week. There's a competition on free signups.. help send me to Homestead in November!

I am more radical than that. Instead of going to tracks twice, the second race should be on a road course, wipers on cars and rain tires in the pit mandatory. If Nascar is going to claim to be the greatest racing series in the world, it should have enough variety, so that top level road racing drivers will be interested in competing in the Nascar format. I am not worried about Nascar drivers doing well on road courses, because they will hold their own. But it would elevate Nascar to a true world class series. Downside would hurt the other France probably, Grand Am founder Jim France, son of Bill Sr.

personally, I think it should be 36 different tracks with 18 short tracks under a mile, 6 tracks a mile, 6 road courses, 3 mile and halfs and 3 restricter plate tracks.

Also 18 night races.

Why not add some steer roping and bronk riding ? Nascar doesn't need to keep changing ,no other sport changes every year. You don't see them changing baseball to seven inning games or golf to 17holes . If people don't like it ,that's fine , but don't lose the fans you have ,trying to be something else.

Nothing is wrong with change as long as it's change for the better. Ratings have declined after the boom period, Nascar is already being proactive, why not try something radical?

What is changing? they already have road racing, they are very popular racing, nationwide in Canada is their big race, 4 plate races? tons of mile and a half that has drawn much criticism. Like I said..you want to tout yourself as the worlds greatest..you need to have a more diverse racing format...remember the Iroc series?

The problem is that many fans , myself included , already like it . Warts and all.

TO ME, that is one ugglyyy ass car.

Hell, me and ted agree, the biggest bass caught in the infield pond= 5 points, a ten minute intermission at halfway to see who can eat the most hotdogs= 5 points, a scond intermission at 3/4 way to see who can turn the fastest lap in reverse= 5 points. Good times for all.
