Random NASCAR Stuff to talk about.....

I think we figured it out. If a non chaser finishes in the top ten, we fudge up the points, if they don't we reset the drop outs to pre chase points. Brian has two rule books.:rolleyes:

oops i missed Fender's reply, but i heard them say it too.

as drivers are eliminated from the Rounds, their points total will be readjusted to the normal points format in sync with all other drivers in the field no longer in contention for the championship. This will allow all drivers not in contention for the NASCAR Sprint Cup championship to continue to race for the best possible season-long standing, with fifth place ultimately still up for grabs at the season finale.

So making the chase is basically pointless because you are not guaranteed a top 16 points year. Pathetic.

i don't think nobody knows completely how this works, i heard somebody maybe Hammond say a win only get you in the 1st round, and then it only by points from there on out to advance to the next round. :idunno:

LOUDON, N.H. – NASCAR confiscated tires from the Nos. 2 (Brad Keselowski), 4 (Kevin Harvick), 31 (Ryan Newman) and 78 (Martin Truex Jr.) teams last week at Chicagoland Speedway.

Although there was speculation that teams were attempting to bleed air from the tires to gain grip, Sprint Cup Series Richard Buck said it was “just for normal due diligence”. The tires were taken to NASCAR’s Research and Development Center in Concord, N.C.

@RickyCravenESPN Thank you all - I appreciate the notes - this Sport has been very good to me, will share my plans for the future in a few weeks

Over in Oz this weekend when the G20 was in Cairns they bought in an extra 800 cops and I noticed this police car.
Even in NZ we still use Holden Commodores. Haven't seen a Camry cop car before.

JEFF GORDON, NO. 24 DRIVE TO END HUNGER CHEVROLET SS – FINISHED 26TH

YOU HAD SOME SPEED UNTIL THAT TIRE LET GO HOW WOULD YOU ASSESS THIS DAY OVERALL?

“This place just doesn’t like us this year for whatever reason. Both races this year we just had a lot of strange things happen to us. Today we were fighting hard like we have been all day long putting a great car out there. It’s hard to get track position on the No. 22 and the No. 4 and even the No. 2 there, but I mean I was real happy with the car I thought we had an awesome race car, but it doesn’t matter if you blow a right-front tire. I’m pretty sure we cut something. I felt it go down about three-quarters of the way down the front straightaway and there is just nothing you can do. Just go along for the ride and hope the damage isn’t too bad, which we were very fortunate to still end up on the lead lap I guess.”

SEVENTH IN POINTS TALK ABOUT HOW YOU FEEL WHERE YOU STAND GOING TO DOVER:

“Well, the problem is you just can’t have things like that happen. We have a strong enough team. We went from being very comfortable going into next week’s race to now not being very comfortable. We just have to go and perform and try to make sure things like this don’t happen.”

@KyleLarsonRacin
