11 years. It's been 11 years since they went off of their total points for the season. Nobody's getting screwed by anything. Everyone knows what the format is, even Gordon.

i agree, just showing how the chase part takes away from how well they really did or didn't do.

@nateryan

Ross Kenseth will make his ARCA debut at Kansas Speedway with RACE 101 team. Eldest child of Matt Kenseth drove for father's team last year

Have you always wanted to be a NASCAR pit crew member? Here’s your chance with Team Hendrick.

You say you’re in the greatest shape of your life, you’re a big NASCAR fan and you think you have what it takes to be a member of Jeff Gordon‘s, Jimmie Johnson‘s, Dale Earnhardt Jr.‘s or Kasey Kahne‘s pit crews?

Well, now’s your chance.

Hendrick Motorsports is holding tryouts for new pit crew members on Oct. 16 at the company’s massive campus on the edge of Concord, N.C.

There’s one catch, though: It’s not an open tryout, but rather by invitation only. Still, if you send in your resume, you may very well get one of those prized invitations.

Here’s the HMS job ad:
Want to be a part of the winning Hendrick Motorsports team? We are conducting by INVITATION ONLY Pit Crew tryouts Thursday, October 16, 2014 at 1:00pm. For consideration, submit resumes by October 3, 2014.
If you are currently a pit crew member for another team you MUST NOT be under contract for the 2015 season. Prior Sprint Cup level experience is required.
*This position is only open to applicants, recruiting firms need not respond or inquire.

This has to be a wonderful thing for current crew members to see.

Maybe they're hiring for Kevin Harvick and he's going to sit there and personally critique every tryout.

And we also don't know where Hendrick will send these guys. The guy who left Kes's lugs loose a couple of weeks ago mentioned that he had been loaned out to BK Racing by Penske before being assigned to the #2. Hendrick might loan them out to some Nationwide or lower level Cup team for a while while waiting for an opening on one of their Cup teams.

As I said in the pre-race thread, I hope that its true I'd love night racing at Dover.

@MonsterMile .@DaleJr We thought people would think that but didn't think you'd be first! It's actually for a new catch fence we're installing in 2015

So, which points system did NASCAR use that had the best balance between wins and consistency, with wins being slightly more important?
