Random NASCAR Stuff to talk about.....

#17 & #99 to swap crews for 2013? Stenhouse crew chief? hearing that the #17 & #99 pit crews will swap for the 2013 season. Current crew chief of the #17, Jimmy Fennig could move over to the #99 Ford of Carl Edwards or go back to his position in Roush Fenway's R&D Department. Supposedly Scott Graves, who currently is Ricky Stenhouse Jr.'s crew chief when he drives the #6 Ford in the NASCAR Sprint Cup, will move over to the #17 Sprint Cup Series ride with Stenhouse when he moves to the Sprint Cup Series in 2013. Edwards could end up with Fenning as his crew chief, or keep Chad Norris. his current crew chief. Also, former Edwards crew chief, Bob Osbourne could return to the #99 pitbox. In September Roush Fenway Racing owner Jack Roush said he didn't expect any crew chief changes for the team in 2013 and that Osbourne's "health is still a question mark.''(11-9-2012)

He was on the fence a few years back when Richard wouldn't get off his damn wallet to buy something like a seven post shaker rig, when everybody else had bought one, Kevin wanted to know why RCR hadn't spent the money. And he asked that question during an interview.

I think he knows. Now is the time. RCR minus Scott Miller is a non-competitive team. Richard doesn't have the money and or drive to get to the top anymore.

Sad, but true. They have been marginal for years, and now Richards focus seems to be on his grand kids. Good move for Kevin.

This is going to put some of the best wheel men in the house of Hendrick. It might as well be the Heartbeat of Chevrolet.

Actually, I think all this hurts HMS/Chevy in the long run. Their best drivers are coming toward the end of their best years. Kasey is their 'young' star? Brad will be with Ford along with Logano and Stenhouse. Guys coming up like Beuscher, Blaney, PK, Larson, etc will look for a top cup team to drive for, and Toyota and Ford will be the ones with room.

Rick always has his pick of the litter. You know this, man!

Anyhow, the drivers rick and Tony have, are the big money drivers that are Chevy men..... And woman. Gasp....

Gordon will be gone someday, and that day Rick Hendrick will ask Brad to be in the 24 and Brad will say, "I like Roger, I like where I am", and Rick will cry, Because he could have had him.

Let's see, 1 set of tires on a 1-mile track, ... call it 55 laps.
In regards to #44 Reutimann, I've been checking out the laps run in practice for this team and other teams known to S&P. His team turned a total of 16 laps in the second and in the final practice sessions. That's basically the same MO of teams like Nemechek who turned 12 laps. Maybe they are just trying to save the car? To be fair though there are other normally S&P's that have turned more laps. When looking at someone that is running in another lesser funded team like the #51, Regan Smith, they've turned 75 laps in those two sessions. Jump to someone like Kyle Busch, who's setting the pace this weekend, he's turned 101 laps. What does all of this mean. Absofreakinlutely, nothing. I'm still calling under. Way under.

2 wins in 5 years vs 20 wins in 5 years...way to pick 'em, Rick.

I think the team announced they'd S&P here and Homestead in preparation for next year. That makes some sense, in that a new team needs time to work out its logistics, race day routines, etc. Next year may tell whether they're more like a #51 or a #78 (assuming they're still around).

I feel so status quo right now. :(
Yep, that's me in the back :D

Just curious , has anyone seen video or heard any comment on Jeff Burton bumping Danica ?

I'm wondering what will happen at RCR towards the end of 2013 if Harvick is out of contention for the Championship. I could easily see Richard telling Kevin to take the rest of the year off while Austin Dillon takes over the former Number 3 ride in preparation for the debut of Dillon's Number 3 in 2014.

And would Tony then do the same to Ryan Newman, giving Happy a few races to become aquainted with SHR?

I'm kinda thinking that he wouldn't want to jeopardize Austin's chances for Rookie of the Year by starting him too many times to be eligible. Then again, that award ain't what it used to be.

I'm thinkin it depends on what the sponsor wants on the track. A driver that gives them a shot at a top ten every time he is on track or some new kid makin laps and gettin in the way at the back of the pack.

The Nationwide schedule is to be announced shortly.

Mid-Ohio expected to host NASCAR Nationwide race

Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course is expected to play host to a NASCAR Nationwide Series race for the first time next August, The Dispatch has learned.

The formal announcement will come at a press conference late tomorrow morning at the Nationwide Insurance headquarters in downtown Columbus. A spokesman for Mid-Ohio had no comment today when asked about the race.

It appears the 2.25-mile road course of Mid-Ohio was the choice of NASCAR to replace the Nationwide Series road race previously held in Montreal.

Cool beans.

I was just reading that Keselowski clinches by finishing 15th or better at Homestead. He has finished 15th or better in 26 of last 28 races.

Or Kyle could race him extra hard and "accidentally" wreck him.

I honestly was worried about that, but Kyle has been keeping it to real hard racing. He got into the left quarter out of turn 4 at Texas, but backed off before he spun Kez.

Nationwide Series to Mid-Ohio on August 17, 2013

While I am saddened by the fact that the Montreal Race has been scratched, I am quite happy that NA$$CAR saw fit to replace that date with another Road Course event!

Mid-Ohio should be great for the Nationwide (and maybe CUP???) Series!
