Rate The Cup Race: Talladega I

8. Great ending, but nasty crash. I was thrilled to see Chase Elliott and Hendrick Motorsports get back into victory lane, and Bowman was quite the showman, bringing his car home 2nd to make it a 1-2. Gutted for Larson, though. He has fallen from grace something awful. As another poster said, this has got to be rock bottom, and he can only go up from here.

That was a 9 for sure. Lots of racing mixed with strategy. Cars could get to the front, the draft was helpful, blocking didn’t involve the force field of dirty air pushing cars away behind.

Great racing throughout. I just hate Superspeedway racing as generally someone wins that probably should not have and the best driver didn't. But that is Dega I suppose.

6 more fake debris cautions to prevent a fuel milage fan because if it was fuel the fans would not know who won.
only a shill would not have noticed.

10....and I didn't even have to think about it. NASCAR nailed it plain and simple. The package has made this type of track awesome again, and NASCAR came ready with adjustments. Drivers drove smart, manufacturers at each other's throats, and two lines all day. I am wondering if this might be a race we remember for a long time in terms of what NASCAR can be.

8. This plate package is a winner so long as it doesn't kill anyone. I just couldn't follow this race though, the commercials were non-stop and came at all the wrong times. I absolutely hate coming to the end of the race and having no clue why or how one car/group is leading.

7.5... The plate tracks are my least favorite form of Nascar racing, and that score is probably the highest rating I've ever given one. This was an excellent super speedway race, with two or three viable lanes all day, and whichever lane formed up a good disciplined run could advance to the front. that's different from the last few years. Less carnage than most, which is another plus.

Unbelievable how many guys had trouble in the pits, so many infractions, and none more devastating (to me) than Brad's pirouette... it looked impressive for sure, but took out one of the very strongest guys. Damn.
