RATE THE RACE: Boring Kentucky

"IndyCar just ain't that deep" - yes, it is. You're letting your personal preference for TNT's coverage get in the way here. TNT misses A LOT of stuff. Stuff that, honestly, FOX and ESPN would not miss. They miss race changing events every race they cover. In fact, they usually miss every single caution, lead change and so on. As for IndyCar, there are several things going on at once and you know about it watching the telecast, not because "IndyCar just ain't that deep" but because NBC Sports gives a **** and want to be there (unlike FOX and TNT) and go out of their way to deliver television coverage fans deserve.

I don't prefer TNT--like I said TV is 1/3 of my intake. I won't get into the depth of IndyCar V. NASCAR because I think that is a matter of personal preference--consider my statement retracted if it offends you. I think that we look for different things in a race experience on TV. That's cool.

I actually liked the race. Anytime I can sit back & relax on my days off & watch Cup is a good day/night!

There's no doubt that you have to be glued to Twitter during a NASCAR race to get the whole picture. I'm saying, it shouldn't be that way. Sometimes, I just want to sit back with a bottle of "Eagle Piss Bitter Ale" (that's for @Johali) and watch the race, on TV. On a couch. Instead, in order to know what's going on, I need to be in front of my computer or tablet following dozens of people on Twitter to know what's going on. The broadcasts are not even remotely close to being as informative as they were even 10 years ago.

You're fine with it. I'm not. I want the sport to reach new fans. That doesn't mean having new fans turn on a TV broadcast and watch a ****ton of commercials and a broadcast that revolves around four or five drivers.

Your tablet cant be with you on the couch? Thought that was also the whole purpose of a laptop. To be on your lap wherever you are in the house.

During commercials, try racebuddy on that new fangled electric scroll.

I give it a solid 7 due to the great nap I got all during the race. Woke up just in time to see the finish.

I couldn't tell if it was boring or not. I kept hearing Framily over and over, and I could swear they switched the channel on me to a ship story and then a talking lizzard would appear or an all white lady. Every once in a while I would see some cars named while we were away's, Was there an echo?

6 to 7
Watched it Sunday Morning in 1 hour 15 minutes from my DVR. I do not ever watch the races live unless I am at the track.

There were some good side by sides from time to time and Brad paddled that ass. My man Mat did better than expected. Larson found out why the gray area bad, dark area good.

Fair points. Well said. Thanks.

I was hoping Gordon could win it because it would make an interesting stat. Kez had them covered, I noticed they did some unusual strategy again (and it helped that he had the best car). I don't have a problem with TNT (the same complaints come up every network change).

Kentucky was too boring, so I switched over to the Deja Vu channel. Jimmie won the Daytona 500...... again.

3. Other than the restarts, just not good racing (at least what I saw). But I didn't expect much coming in to it. Its Kentucky.

Ended up being an interesting stat for Kez instead, first driver to win Kentucky twice.
