Rate The Race: Daytona 2

Looking at the comments in the race thread this will probably be another ridiculously underrated plate race so I'll give it a 10 to bump that rating slightly.

First half of the race was an 8, the second half was a 2. I'll give it a middling 5....

Terrible coverage and an absolute commercial fest from hell

Zero.

I'll list the positives and negatives:

NEGATIVES

Bucky Brad won.
There was a race? I could have sworn it has a show about commercials.
No one could pass the leader.
Kurt got spun out at the end.
Kahne's mediocre crew and crew chief took forever to fix seemingly minor damage. The hit didn't look that bad.
Hendrick sucked.
Stewart-Hass sucked (except for Kurt till the end)

POSITIVES

.

Sadly I can't rate the race because I stayed home from going to the dirt track to watch it on NBC. But I never could find the race on TV. Perhaps I don't get NBC here at the trailer park.

7.5, wanted to see the last 5 laps run out but oh well.

Your bias is showing
Bias for what? I don't like BK and my driver wrecked out in the first big one.
This race was 1 point away from being the best race you've ever seen in your life? Really???
5/10
You rate them like you want to and I'll do the same. I watched some great 3 wide racing all back through the pack on raceview and loved it. To me it was exciting.

That's not exactly how this whole rating thing works. If I rate a movie a 10 out of 10, that doesn't mean it's my favorite movie. That just means I enjoyed it and didn't see hardly any flaws. Same applies to rating a race.

Yep. Exactly.

What? I wasn't even replying to you.

But if you see a flaw how can you rate it a 10?! I look in the mirror and see 83 flaws, therefore I'm a 3!

Maybe it will get better.

My guess is it will. From a business standpoint it makes sense to saturate this broadcast with commercials given the increased viewership of Daytona. I have to believe things will return to normal next week....

7.5. Good plate race. Proud of Kyle Damn Busch. Wheeled the hell out of the thing with very little help. Apparently, JGR forgot to send out the e-mail from February about how to run this race. Kyle got sick of it, and did what he could on his own. Dude can wheel it.

guess that delays ya tour de france for all you bitchin folks tho ! :D

Race::9
Coverage?? They had more race coverage back when "Wide World of Sports" just showed hi-lites and updates. Worst I've ever seen!!!!!

That was the worse race coverage I have seen since TNT. My guess is you didn't watch.

Worst race coverage you have seen in your entire life? Go back and watch the races on CBS and TBS in the mid 90s when Ken Squier was losing it, or the "TNT Summer Series", or the final year of NBC's original run when Wally Dallenbach was the only person in the booth with a pulse. Or the Fox races a few weeks ago when Jaws, who hasn't been in a car in 15 ****** years, kept challenging Jeff Gordon, who was in the final ****** four last year, on everything.

I wasn't paying as much attention to this race as I do the others because Daytona is easily the worst race on the schedule. But, the coverage didn't bother me at all.

Excessive commercials, but offset by great graphics, commentary and camera work.

I said since TNT not my entire life. Go to bed Andy your reading comprehension is tired.

You are aware NBC's coverage is literally the same as TNT's coverage, with the exception of the announcers, right? Same EP, same producers, same crew essentially. Difference is, NBC actually cares, TNT didn't get a ****. And it shows.

And, FWIW, the commentary was the high point of TNT's coverage. Wally and KP were awesome.
