Rate The Race: Kansas II

Stopped watching about thirty minutes ago...will not watch, or support NASCAR ever again. That includes financial support for any team as of the end of the season

Mmm k, but that is not numerical rating of the race, that is the point of the thread.

2. One of the worst races I've seen in a while. It was probably a lot better in person, but the TV broadcast was awful.

The first two stages, I was switching back and forth between the race and football. Literally every time I turned the race on, it was the blabbermouths talking about playoff points as they run, specifically the guys right above/below the cutoff line. That's all they talked about! Then a commercial would come on and I would switch back to football. I would switch back to the race a short time later and it was more of the same. Rinse, repeat.

I watched the whole third stage, and if there was any action on the track at all, they sure didn't show it. Single file, spread out, typical Kansas. The best part of the race was Matt Kenseth's interview talking about all the pointless/stupid rules nowadays (he's 100% right, by the way).

It's a shame that NBC and this stupid "playoff" format ruins what was probably an OK race.

Outside of the big ones this track keeps producing, worst track outside of Joliet to attend.

No score.

I do enjoy however, enjoying watching what a competitive and level playing field that NASCAR has created with the COT and its current descendants.

Probably a 7. It was a fairly interesting race.

The constant playoff hype from the announcing booth made me sick.

Few of these folks around every week it seems. Hate the sport so much but can’t seem to get away...

Many of these people hate NASCAR the sanctioning body, not necessarily the sport itself. At least that's how I feel.

It's amazing I still put up with this circus, especially since my driver no longer races.

The sad part is, thousands have actually went through with their commitment.

You are 100% right as for every 55-65 year old that will tune in because it is what they have always done 2 or 3 times that amount have walked away and no longer think of the series.

Well said.

4. It was about what you expect from Kansas as there wasn't anything horrible but there was nothing compelling either. Between the sanctioning body, the race quality and NBC they don't make it easy on us.

Got to take what they give ya with the playoff nonsense, as a race, it was pretty good without that. 7

I disagree as you can keep the volume on mute for most of the race if you prefer and only turn it on if it is important for you to know why a care retired or why Matt can't run for a championship. I saw someone that looked like Mark Martin's dad with Harry Caray glasses on and I was curious for a moment but there was football to see so I didn't have time to stop.
