It was a 3. Boring race. Even Rick Allen didn't attempt to make it sound exciting calling the win. He couldn't. The 41 car was almost 3 seconds behind the 78. Yawn.
It’s what 200 mph racing looks like. I guess it’s not for everyone.
4 consecutive complaint posts in a row in the rate the race thread.
Is that a record?

Exactly."I guess it’s not for everyone." Now that's the spirit as some people really liked the race today and some didn't. Either way it is OK.
yeah I watched a lot of Blaney's in car camera especially the first stage, he was passing like crazy, lots of throttle driving8, minus three for tv coverage, plus one for Twitter in car camera with Blaney starting at the rear.
Exactly.
Al Franken is my hero.

Just awesome. I love the way this format enhances the show. Massive championship implications.
Right now, being a US senator might be getting in the way of Al’s funny bone.Al's just as funny as he has always been but these days I think it is unintentional. Still funny is funny.
This championship format makes me sick, and discussion about it detracted from my enjoyment of the race.
That said, I tried not to let it influence my race rating.
I tried too, but it's pretty hard when it's 98% of the discussion from the booth, and also the focus of the cameras the majority of the time
8.5 I personally love the chase, makes the whole race interesting to watch.
Dishonorable mention to Eric Jones in the Xfinity race for his inability to slow his car and save it for a shot at getting the lead back.... I have not seen a "Bonehead" thread, but I don't think we need one. Jason Ratcliff is the bonehead of the year, and no further discussion is needed. I thought he would never live down that black flag deal at Atlanta 2016 ("I was too busy arguing the case to tell you to drive through the pits"). Now I think Ratcliff has finally found a way to make everyone forget that stupid incident in Atlanta.
When I watched live, the caution clock (another gimmick) for the 48 was giving Steve and Jeff some trouble. Looks like they didn’t know when it would start or stop. I got chuckled and went back to Red ZoneHow could he..they were racing for the cut off with the car that was in the garage. that didn't shut him or Jabba up though they were making stuff up, the brothers were side by side and they weren't Here come KDB and Truex passed him. Another sterling performance by the three blind mice. there was no need to go elbows up for the 8 that were in the cut off positions. Just finish above 14th.
Isn’t the first ever Bass Pro shops right across the street from the track? I’ve been to it and coulda sworn it was store #1BTW, I wanna know why NBC kept showing the 78 when he was so far out in the lead. The excuse last week was that the racing needed to be shown. Martin wasn't racing anyone in the shot as he was way out in front. Then all the yapping about Bass Pro Shops being a local company - never mind that the race was in Kansas and Bass Pro is out of MO and roughly 3 hours drive from Kansas Speedway. Was NBC attempting to make up for the gawd awful mistake they made last week?
Which apparently made everyone forget Phoenix 2013...I thought he would never live down that black flag deal at Atlanta 2016 ("I was too busy arguing the case to tell you to drive through the pits"). Now I think Ratcliff has finally found a way to make everyone forget that stupid incident in Atlanta.
What was so bad about it ?I enjoyed the afternoon/suppertime race. Booth nonsense really takes away from
the enjoyment tho. Just shows that NBC really has to do something different with the production.
Maybe getting a producer that likes racing would help.
7.5
I'm not going to blame one race for putting the #20 out of the championship running. Matt basically said they were inconsistent this year. Better performance before the playoff started would have put them higher above the cut line going into Kansas. The 78 team continues to impress me, they over came problems to win. I thought Harvick should have gotten the same penalty as Truex. The 48 totally lucked out and the 20 and 42 didn't. Kenseth was having good day and I thought he was going to beat the 48 for the transfer spot. I felt bad for Larson, I though he was going to move on. I don't recall seeing a disqualification during a race before. Unpredictable stuff happened in Kansas.
Their first store was in Springfield, MO. I think the second was on the Lake of the Ozarks in MO. After that I have no idea.Isn’t the first ever Bass Pro shops right across the street from the track? I’ve been to it and coulda sworn it was store #1
