Rate the race: Texas I

I usually look forward to a nap during this race. I gotta give it a 9 compared to what I've seen here in the past. I just hope it's the same thing next time around.

Safe to say some of us have different ideas of what good racing is. :D

I've said it before, the stages add nothing, no one is pushing their cars to win a stage. But near the end of the race it was nice to see different cars battle for the lead.

Probably give it an 8, better than vegas and Atlanta.

Excuse me, but did you not see about nine teams make a play for the Stage 2 points, at the cost of accepting reduced chances to win the race? In fact, Blaney may have won the race if they had ignored the Stage 2 payoff and pitted on the caution a few laps before the stage ended.

I'm not going to give a specific number since I was at the track today (always better than TV), but I'll say the first two segments were pretty good. The third segment wasn't as interesting.

Hopefully, turns one and two will develop upper grooves in the near future. Restarts could be real fun on such a wide surface if all of it could be utilized.

yeah when my driver gets screwed out of the win by a bs yellow I'm going to be pissed.
This is "Rate the race", not "Rate the finishing order". There have been plenty of instances where my driver finished poorly yet I still rated the race 9+, and others where my driver finished well and I rated the race a 3 or less. RATE. THE. RACE. Yes...this is one of my biggest pet peeves

7 + 1 = 8

I liked the repave that had drivers searching for different lines on both ends, and driving side by side.
Extra credit of 1 point for Kyle Larson running through the field, showing it could be done.

surface has to wear in but have a feeling next year it will be better. I dont have much hope for the fall race.

I noticed a number of different groups running in the top ten trough out the race. I thought 21 might be the car to beat for awhile. I've been surprised how well the Ganassi teams have been doing so far. Half the drivers in the top ten in points are not the usual suspects.

I would have thought being there live and watching Larson come from the back to the front several times would have been great.
