special on #24 team's 1997 Daytona 500.

Looks good so far. Those are some damn good cameras for 1997 :p

I was in the stands for that race. Kinda weird seeing the 3 upside down
on the back and then all of a sudden here he comes driving in the pits.
I think that was '97. Brain is heading to shut down mode. Better sign off.

Yep, I am really enjoying it so far , bringing back a ton of memory's of being 16 :D, and how much I didnt like Jeff or Ray then.

I'd like to retroactively enforce the yellow line rule as an Elliott fan

This was a great piece. Imagine being a Fox Sports exec when Ray Evernham lets them in on this.

FS1 followed the program up with the 97' 500. Knocked it outta the park with their tv schedule tonight.

It was past my bedtime. Hopefully they'll rerun it in the next couple of days.

Pretty cool to see, I was 8 in 97 so this was all new to me. The technical and behind the scenes side of racing is so interesting to me, it was cool to get a more in-depth look at that even though it's twenty years old.

I found the attitude about "cheating" quite refreshing. Now if someone wins by more than a second they are crucified for "cheating" with no explanation what cheating means to them. My guy got beat so I'm mad...

Smokey would have been so proud of RAY and probably even Chad now. Nascar is so worried about things being so even it is a crime.

That 24 Team lead by Gordon & Evernham was one of the greatest in the history of the sport.

I was still pulling for the Yates cars and Mark. Dang why didn't Mark pass him and keep him a lap down?? :(

I agree that was most interesting part. So you see where Chad gets it. It's done and it's awesome when you get a chance to learn what they did to get advantages.

Gotta catch a replay of this. When is it next on?

I was a Mark Martin fan. Every time I saw that damn 24 car in victory lane, I wanted to kick rocks.

1998 is a sore subject for me. Right up there with 1990, the 2007 Daytona 500 and the 1999 AFC Championship Game.
Wait...you're a Jags fan? :flushed:

I really enjoyed that show. Well done and some great footage. The make 10 changes and try to get 7 by was pretty cool. Shame those two could not stay together any longer than they did. Wasn't it at the same time that Hendrick got sentenced to house arrest for criminal collusion among his dealerships was the same time he got Leukemia and when the house arrest was over he was cured?

Yes miraculous wasn't it? Got the house arrest because of the illness. The only felon I know that didn't spend a day in at least jail.
