I want to personally thank everyone for the outstandingly successful start to the 2017 Fantasy NASCAR Season. 27 in Truck, 27 in Xfinity, and 43 in Cup. We had 36 people participate in the Duels, an event that meant nothing one year ago. But here's the statistic I really want to pay attention to: only 2 registered players did not participate in any Speedweeks event. 46 different names were posted in results for the Duels, Truck race, Xfinity race, and the Daytona 500. So thank you to all who played with us and I can't wait to see how the season unfolds for all of you.

I hope you enjoyed all of the updates throughout the race last weekend. They are, of course, a work in progress with the new format. But unfortunately, just like last year at this time, I will be unavailable throughout the entire weekend. Results for all 3 series will be posted late on Sunday, if not, Monday morning. So please be sure to remind yourself for your predictions and watch for your own errors. But from late Friday night until late Sunday night, I will be unavailable.

Let's go into the complexity of absences...

@WhiningSmoke, Smokegirl14, Maverick19, @AJDinger47Fan, and @USMCKoontz did not participate in the Daytona 500. Maverick19 did make it clear that he does not intend to run Cup this year, which is entirely fine. @AJDinger47Fan did participate in the Xfinity and Truck races, but not the 500. @WhiningSmoke and @AJDinger47Fan participated in the Duels, but not the 500. @AJDinger47Fan earned points in the Duels but if the Dinger fan does not participate in Cup by Las Vegas, registration in Cup is lost and those points will be redistributed.

Registration closes the weekend of Las Vegas in all 3 series. You must participate in that series within the first 3 races (2 in Trucks) if you intend to participate in that series at all. The Duels do NOT count as participation.

So yes, that means THIS WEEKEND is the final opportunity to enter and play in the Truck Series. Saves will not go into effect for ALL series. If you need a refresher about how Saves work, click here http://racing-reference.info/showblog?id=2900

Now let's get into the meat and potatoes of this week's and every week's blog. That is the results and points for all 3 series, and then a look ahead at the schedule for next week. Now, there is a LOT to go through. To save space and time, I am showing both the regular season points and the Playoff Grid. In the Playoff Grid, there are two sets of parenthesis. The first parenthesis is wins (if any) and the second bracket is playoff points (if any). With the new format, displaying the results is also a work in progress and I would greatly appreciate any and all feedback on what you would like to see and what you don't want to see.

I want to apologize to @Bob. I said on Sunday that he had won the Pole and was eligible for next year's Clash. I was wrong. I did say that the Daytona Pole would be decided by Qualifying results, not the Duel results. So in that case, ADP04 won the Pole Award and will be in next year's Clash. Now I know how the Oscar people felt...too soon?

As a general rule, I don't allow advertising or supporting other fantasy leagues unless you are a supporter of our own. Otherwise, it seems like we're competing for players. I don't want to compete. And I'm sure you don't either. So I cordially invite you to join our own game, it's not too late. And if you do, I'll gladly allow you to advertise your game and I'll gladly support your game.

How do you play?

By the way the other one is not even my fantasy league just trying to drum up some competition for myself. I assumed those participating in a current Fantasy game might be open to participating and another one. No intentions of competing directly against your game just wanted to get the word out, as in years past we've had more participants.

I don't blame you at all! More competition within a league is always something we strive for. Just choose a number, color scheme, and manufacture for yourself, and you'll be all set to play! Each week, you post a Top-10 prediction for the race. You can play in just one, all, or a combination of the 3 NASCAR National Series. If you want to bring some of your friends to join here as well, be aware that this weekend is the latest to join for the Truck Series and the deadline to play for Cup and Xfinity is Las Vegas. Then at that time, registration for new players is closed.

I am fully aware that I cannot control what others post and I meant absolutely no disrespect to @Fordracing7. As a matter of respect, I wouldn't reach out to other fantasy games I don't participate in just to promote my own. In the same light, I just ask that others don't do that in this league. Of course, I never believed there was intention of stealing players for competition, but from experience, people do perceive that sometimes.

So that's why instead of asking @Fordracing7 to leave, I am giving a warm welcome to @Fordracing7 into this game. And in turn, I will personally promote the other game as well and may even participate myself. The point is to mutually support games, not one over another even if that is not the intention.

There's no reason to create any further commotion. I am 100% open to promoting other fantasy games for all to play and enjoy and you are also invited to play in this league as well. In addition to all of the content I try to create for the players in this game, I also want to do all I can to promote a respectful environment. If there are ways in which you think I can improve, I am all ears.
