Wow that was quick !

I wish we heard from Ryan, and what the extent of his injuries were. Mild concussion? Surely if there was a TBI, he'd still be there.

Ask yourself Does he look like a guy who has had a concussion? or would have custody of his kids if he did? sheesh. I guess he could have one, over at the Toyota drivers house and all :p

No **** that was my point lol, sorry if that wasn't clear. A concussion is a TBI. He'd still be in the hospital. I would like to know why he was kept though, if for anything other than just some tests.

Regardless, it's great to see him with friends! He looks like he could be back in the car next week.

I wasn't really replying to your post, except the topic was brought up..like some are now wondering why he wasn't hurt enough for them. :p It never ends around here.

As if we already didnt know, Ryan Newman is one Tough Customer. Maybe Wrangler can sponsor him a for a few races this year.

Apparently no car either, Jack should at least pay for a taxi for them. Ryan didn't win the race but he still at least he scored a top 10.

Walking out of the hospital holding his daughter's hands is the best news story of the day.
They are at a precious age and still young enough to idealize their Daddy as it should be.
Some of my first thoughts after Monday was that he has two young daughters with so much at stake, and to me that was as sad as the racing world loosing Newman himself.
I am thankful that has not been destroyed.

Thank God.

Good to see. Admittedly, I was a bit worried about Blaney. He's a young kid. Given Bubba's comments, I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if he's struggling with some mild post traumatic stress.

I still wonder why they brought out the black screens. I am sure many others do as well. What were they trying to cover up? Some injury, some issue, to block what they were doing in case something went wrong and to avoid a lawsuit, error on the side of caution?

yeah I thought it was because he was bleeding, turns out it doesn't look like he had a scratch on him and he isn't saying anything. :idunno:

My guess is with it being in very public view on the frontstretch and not being sure exactly what they would have they did it as a precaution.
 
I wasn't sure how to respond to this incident or feel about it. I've read through many of the comments, but not all because it gets overwhelming after a while. I will just say I am thankful for Ryan's health condition and also say that.... aren't we all brave and hero's? We all risk out lives on a daily basis doing what we do and knowing the risk. Driving to work? Eating something bogus? Stress from our spouse and kids (not me lol) Doing our work? I run my hand next to saw blades and risk knee injury everyday. I don't have near the security of someone driving a racecar of the privilage to do so. . Not to say I need that, am jealous of, or want it.....just saying.

not really. I think the same way when people praise firemen and cops. you know what you sign up for.
 
I would have stuck myself in that car 20 years prior if I knew one day I would have faced that kind of thing.
