Now, my eyes tell me that the opening in the pit road wall will fit more than one car thru at a time so I don't think 3 barrels will make getting back to the garage impossible. The back end of that pit stall extends about 4.5 to maybe 5 feet back past the wall so if we take 1.5 inches from each of the other 42 pit boxes, we may just have ourselves a solution.

Edit: I just noticed that there are only 36 pit stalls in front of Kahne's pits box so we may have to take 2.0 inches from each of those 36.

By all means, go report your findings to NASCAR on just how easy it is to fix everything. I'm sure after another 200,000,000,000 laps or so, some other freak wreck will cause everyone to come up with a perfectly easy solution to fix the problem that was so apparent to everyone after the last 45 years.:rolleyes:

It seems that everybody has forgotten Jeff Gordon hitting an opening in the inside wall at Las Vegas in 2008 and knocking his radiator out and some people thought he had to be dead. There are a lot of examples, too many to name. That crash at Las Vegas was the first like it at that track.

Perhaps you're having trouble reading my post with your eyeballs rolled back in your head but I don't think I'll try to sell it as a fix for "everything", as you say. I think just a fix for the narrow edge of a concrete wall would be better in this particular case.

No, no trouble reading your post at all. I just really disagree that the hole needs to be fixed. Millions and millions of laps, freak accident. If we tried to address everything that caused damage as a result of such a freak accident, we'd get nowhere.

I'm sure we can agree to disagree on that while Nascar takes a look at it, which is what they're doing.

You know it befuddles the hell out of me that if certain posters had their way there would be no humor on here at all, none. But oh well crazy me, I find humor in their humorlessness. :cool:
