Seriously Jimmie?

I like JJ'S and I usually want him to win but the day of the race and after watching this I think he was 100% wrong. All he would have done was back off give the position back and all would have been great instead he dident and got what he deserved.

Jimmie's jumped a lot of restarts. I notice it a lot. But it's so close that there's no way NASCAR could make a call that decided the outcome of the race, or a championship for that matter. This time, Jimmie got caught.

All that matters is that he is leading the points by a very healthy margin and is sitting on the pole Sunday because of it!!!
CAN YOU FEEL THAT ???

Hehehe.. I never thought I would say these words but JPM is startin to grow on me lol... I wanted to see him win at Richmond and Dover.. and after watching that interview made me like him even more LOL when told about JJ saying he found a loop hole his response "Woow.. I'm that good!" Just cracked me up. Can't believe JJ is STILL crying about that. He would have won if he'd just given it back that's the best part.

The way I see it JJ messed up and he lost the race because of it. But, I bet it will never happen to him again. The next time he will stand on the brakes and wreck every car that is behind him.:)

This is different, most of his career people have cried about his domination, and they seem to resent it, and they always try to deflect the credit to Chad.
This exception or turning of the tables will not be news in a month, but JJ will continue to the best Hendrix has, and the best he had going back to his first full season.

Nobody said JJ wasn't good, we're just saying he's whining too much about this. You know the ego has gotten a bit out of control when a driver insists he was right and the 42 other guys messed up.

All you guys now starting to like Juan need to shut it. Thus is the same ole JPM that I and others have liked from the start. Now that he is going up against JJ people are starting to like him, like he has changed for the better. This is the same JPM from before. I find it funny that some who didn't like him before are changing their tune.

[ Is there actually anybody on this forum that thinks he wasn't?[/quote]

Probably not, but I don't think JPM is all that squeaky & clean in all of this.

so much for a driver growing his fan base . . .

So I guess you haven't been a nascar fan for more than a year then. Heh, that explains being a Joey fan.

All I am saying is you like JPM for who he is now and the shut he is pulling, then you should have been a fan of his from the start. This is the same JPM that has always been around. Now that he is pulling shut with Jimmie more people are starting to like him. Hypocrites if you ask me.

I found the video in YouTube. I think JPM is smarter than people give him credit for.

Well yeah, I agree. JPM overall has won things that Johnson can only dream of. Like him or don't , the guy IS a proven winner. Motorsports does encompass more than just Nascar, after all.

I've been watching since 2009.. Which I know is right around the time JPM made the chase and won some but from what I've seen over the past few years he hasn't impressed me. I could care less about anything he says or does off track. It's funny.. but the reason I'm starting to like him is because he's running up front, not because he dooped JJ. He's impressing me more than he has in the past.. that's all there is to it. I don't get what the problem is.. stop bein a douche.

I watch NASCAR.. I like stock car racing.... could care less about other motorsports and what JPM or Tony or AJ or any other guys have done in open wheel racing or super cars or anything else really.

My apologies to all the Mark Martin fans who have been with him since he started in NASCAR.

I only got "on board" about 15 years ago.

open minded if you ask me.

Bein a Joey fan.... well, I plan on being a big NASCAR fan for a looong time so I figured I'd pick the driver I think will be around the longest and be the best over the next 10 - 20 years. I'll be the guy that DIDN'T jump on the bandwagon like 80% of JJ fans and so many others....... I'll be the first to admit the first 4 years of his career were unimpressive but I'll also be the first one saying I TOLD YOU SO when he wins his first championship. I was always confident in Joeys move to Penske and he hasn't disappointed me yet this year. Without stupid engine issues, a couple crashes, and a 25 point penalty he would be sitting right up there in the top 10 easy. Let's just wait and see.. How about that? LOL

I don't think the Johnson effect is the sole reason for the slight uptick in JPM support here, support which I honestly don't see lasting for long. It's also the fact that he's had a few decent runs going this year and, as Slice pointed out, he was in contention for the win at Richmond and Dover. Obviously once a driver starts running better they get interviewed more and start mixing it up with the top stars, which leads to more exposure to and, hopefully for them, support from fans. It's inevitable. One could argue that those fans are just front runners, but ehh, I think we are all that way to some degree. No one wants to cheer for the dude running dead last every week.

I hopped on the Pablo bandwagon when he first came to NASCAR. We all knew he would be a beast on road courses but he has never shown that he can be a top contender on the ovals week in and week out. He and that team still have a long way to go in that regard. He's an entertaining, aggressive driver like Stewart or Harvick, and if his performance ever rises to the level of the general/past performance of those two guys, he'll have just as many fans.

that brings up another point. JPM, Marcus Ambrose, Dario, Pappas, Villinouve, on and on, have either tried to make a success in Nascar, or failed trying. To me that is the one gauge to show that Nascar racing is the most competitive form of racing on the planet. When you have x f1, V8 supercar champions, Indy car champions, road racing champions in Nascar and to be quite frank, none of them are doing that well, show me anyway just how tough it is to be a winner.
