1 - StandOnIt said NACAR was the highest form of motorsport.
2 - I disagreed, saying that the open-wheel guys in NASCAR weren't elite drivers.
3 - StandOnIt said Montoya was an elite driver.
4 - Debate ensued.
I think this conversation was very relevant to NASCAR, since it was ultimately about where NASCAR ranks in motorsports competition. You're acting like I was bringing up open-wheel news randomly and injecting it into NASCAR discussion for no reason. Sorry, but when NASCAR's status as a high level of motorsports competition is brought up, that means it's fair game to discuss other forms of racing.

Well it still was originally from buddy spazzing because I said I like Montoya... I forget what my point was now lol. Montoya is not elite... could be. I guess my point was I like Montoya now even though I didn't like him before.. and that open wheel and NASCAR aren't comparable. Also I didn't read most of the conversation in between. Came from what I was saying yesterday for the most part.

I like Montoya a lot. I was a big CART fan in 99-00 when he showed up out of nowhere, nobody knew his name or who he was, and he won like 7 races that year. He also was in a funny commercial with Jimmy Vasser (his teammate then) that has led to me calling him Snipe Boy to this day. But (and this is what StandOnIt disagrees with), he was kind of washed out of F1 because he was never the championship contender in Europe that he was expected to be. I think he's in NASCAR today instead of IndyCar because NASCAR is where all the money is in racing today, and he's probably making more money in NASCAR as a upper-midpack guy than he would be in IndyCar. Sad, but true.
But, water under the bridge. The next race will start soon and I'm sure a comet will hit Denny Hamlin's car or something and Danica will wreck Jimmie Johnson and they'll find an illegal nuclear reactor in the Toyota engine and we'll have something new to argue about for the next week.
