Because we LOVE racing, and we're being fed a crappy product lately. Hopefully, enough people ***** about it or stop watching it, Nascar will wake up and start working on a better product. That's knda like saying "if you're gonna ***** about the shape our country's in, just leave." No, you ***** about it to the right people, maybe things will change.

Oh, and BTW, I'm not watching today

I've got the NHRA Arizona Nationals on.

For those not watching, 112 to go. Biffle, JGordon, Johnson, Kenseth, KuBusch, KyBusch.
What a race!! Y'all are missing a decent race under the lights.

Rain in turn 3 save Lil'E from going a lap down. I wondered who he would wreck this race if that had happened.
The interview DW had with him before the race was real eye opening. DW asked him if Rick asked him to step away from Whiskey River and the goings on at his 300 acres he basically said no. That he was giving nearly 100% now. I don't see how that attitude translates into a Championship...

Oh, and for those of you calling for the race to go back to Rockingham because the stands are empty, you seem to forget that Rockingham had a problem selling out that race. Being geographically close to Daytona the East Coast fans went there and not the Rock.
You realistically couldn't go north due to weather. Maybe if Rockingham was 4th or 5th they may have put more fannies in the stands. Maybe the 2nd race needs to be in Texas.

Andy wouldnt like that. granted, what does he like

seriously, it gets too cold here to have an early race. We had a freeze last night.

You know, for a state that's so liberal and claims to be so environmentally friendly, Southern California sure has some of the messiest race fans.

We are ON the fuel window. Should be +1 lap after this yellow. Could get interesting with the engine problems...

Why do some people dislike us folks from california so much. We are really no different than anyone else. However though I am thinking that people from Maryland are too busy with their noses in the air to realize that.

Bucky, it's become the thing to do.

But just to give my own two cents in this. Imagine, Winston Salem, North Carolina, home of RJ Reynolds, long time sponsor of the top NASCAR series and what made the sport what it is today, or maybe I should have said four or five years ago, and what...NOT one local radio station is carrying the race. Had to make a run to the store at about 130 laps into the race and couldn't find any of the local stations carrying the race. Had to do a search on both AM and FM and finally found some distant AM station that was carrying it. It was bad enough that I lost the second tiered race a couple of years ago, but now both are gone.

Oh wow, a caution not due to rain. The end to Harvick's run.

Actually, I don't think they dislike everyone from California, but what gets us mostly is that NASCAR, TV etal are trying their damnedest to get the audience there in California that they are catering to their/your needs over the rest of the country. The second biggest market in the country is a good market for sure, but if the people just aren't interested in the sport, it's pretty hard to change their minds. Just as the country has plenty of soccer fans, they can't change the fact that most of the country prefers American football.

But if you hang in there, NASCAR just might end up moving to the west coast as they seem to forget about the east coast and you might have it all. Lobby hard enough and they might move the new HOF from Charlotte to LA.

The HOF belongs in Charlotte where the sport basically came from. I don't want it all, just a little respect for us Nascar fans out here. California is not a foriegn country.
Enough said about the whole thing.
I just want to see the rest of what is not a bad race.

That shows you how far nascar has come. When they start losing fans from the Triad they better pull their head out of.........

The end to Harvick's run.
And the end of a streak of 81 races without a DNF, the longest in NASCAR history. Harvick's last DNF was in Dover in 2006 an engine failure that cost him the Championship.

Maybe if California didn't bore me so much, I'd like it. :sarcasm:

I just find it ironic that the state with the strictest emissions laws and strictest smoking laws and all that has the most problems with trash on the track.

You must hate Michigan races as well because they have had some boring races over the years with the exception of Jarret's first win.
Your comment on trash sure seems to sound similar to DW calling last years race the hot dog wrapper 500. My advice is to get your own material.
For someone so in tune with racing you have to admit the trash problems exist at all tracks.

In fareness they really picked the wrong weekend and wrong timing for this. The Academy Awards where also being held in Los Angels and started at 5:30 local time. Which at that point the race wasent even at half way.

No blown engine for Harvick: Earnhardt-Childress Racing Engines employees discovered a punctured oil filter on the engine of Kevin Harvick’s #29 Shell-Pennzoil Chevy after hard contact with the outside wall of Auto Club Speedway on lap 208. The filter was replaced and the engine restarted but the damage done to the car prevented the team from returning to the race and ending Harvick's DNF streak at 81 [3 short of the all-time record].(RCR PR)
