Not really, the body is a rather thin guage metal. It took no real effort to cut ours open to check for metal. Had a tool like a big tubing cutter, 2 or 3 revolutions and it was thru.
Get a old filter and poke it with a #2 phillips, you'll be surprised at how little effort it takes. Now imagine a piece of debris being kicked up.
