Wow I had no idea about this series.

The XJ220 was like a godly car to me growing up. It's quite amazing to see how they destroyed them racing them in this series.

NASCAR Legacy Series

Use the K&N Series/ARCA rules.
Race length short enough to eliminate the need for pit stops. If necessary, a fuel stop for all cars can occur at the midway point of a race.
Limit of 6 tires per weekend with exceptions made for tire failures.
Single day race format - 30 minute practice, qualifying, race.

10 race tour: most events taking place on the same weekend as a NASCAR national series event at the same track.

Drivers must be age 50 and up.
Try to get commitments from 16 drivers to run the whole tour, with an additional 8 “open” starting spots at each race.
Starting field can range from 20-24 cars.

Nobody, it’s just a fantasy. I think it would be cool, and maybe lure back some of the old school fans that have turned away from NASCAR. The logistics don’t work out in favor of this ever happening though.

There is no difference in the cars you are talking about. Both are fiberglass body cars, you think the sanctioning body makes a difference between a late model stock and a USAR car? Hooters ran steel body cars, the car Pearson was in was a late model stock.

From a visual standpoint, I can easily tell them apart. They really don't look all that similar IMO

The slope/shape of the nose, the "flatness" of the sides on the late model, the proportions of the greenhouse, and the shape of the quarter window, just to name a few details. Most telling is from the B-pillar on back. The late model is a little boxier, look at the rear decklid and spoiler for example. It's hard to tell in the pictures but there's a noticeable difference between the two
